The standard translation of R. H. Charles is combined in the MSV with the timeless work of Richard Laurence, George H. Schodde, and August Dillmann to make the Book of Enoch easier to understand. All four translations and their extensive notes were compared diligently when updating the text in this complete edition.
Resources For Your Study - Over 640 MSV footnotes cross-referencing Enoch with the Old and New Testaments show the consistency of thought, ideas, and themes between Enoch and the Holy Bible. The footnotes also address difficult passages to demonstrate how they align with the teachings of the Bible. A section on parallel passages from the New Testament is included for your study.
Enoch in the Bible - Nearly all the writers of the New Testament knew the Book of Enoch, which is reflected in their writings. Enoch was part of Jewish tradition and is just one of many outside works alluded to in the Holy Bible. Peter, Jude, and even Jesus Christ referred in scripture to the contents of the Book of Enoch.
Nephilim, Angels, Giants, and Demons - These rarely taught subjects involving spiritual warfare are found throughout the Holy Bible, connected to such important themes as Baptism, the book of Revelation, eternal judgment, and the purpose of the church as described in Ephesians 3:8-11. The Book of Enoch elaborates on these ideas while remaining faithful to biblical teaching.
The Modern Standard Version is an easy-to-understand and accessible introduction to the Book of Enoch. This Bible-based version is an excellent way to study and learn these ancient concepts.
