I recently read the complete apocrypha after wanting to do so for a long time and it was quite an interesting read. But I had no idea there were *more* books of Enoch, so this one was a treat!

This collection offers a deeper dive into ancient texts that didn’t make it into the Bible. The Slavonic and the Hebrew editions differ in tone and content compared to this first.

While “1 Enoch” was more abstract and divine, often veering into mysterious spirituality, “2 Enoch: Slavonic” dives into the early Christian era and offers a more vivid and mystical account of Enoch's journey to Heaven, where Enoch is taken through various heavenly realms, encountering angelic beings and learning divine secrets.
“3 Enoch: Hebrew” centers on the transformation of Enoch, offering a fascinating narrative about Enoch’s ascension to a divine role.

Overall, more insights on angels, the Nephilim, prophesies, and visions of heaven. Some parts were incredibly vivid and engaging, while some parts were dense and difficult to get through or just confusing in general. But that’s expected with ancient writings.

One thing I appreciated was how organized this collection was. The translations are clear, and the inclusion of multiple texts give a fuller picture of how these writings evolved.
If you’re into biblical history, theology, or just enjoy exploring hidden or forgotten texts, this collection is worth listening to. It’s no light reading, but it’s definitely enlightening! Just take your time with it.

The narration was fairly good. A time or two, there was some obvious throat clearing that should’ve been edited out, but it didn’t detract from the listening experience.

Highly recommend for those who love diving into ancient texts and expanding their understanding of religious history.

It’s like reading the Old Testament. Some bits are interesting, some are so convoluted it makes no sense. There’s an entire chapter about the “portals” the sun enters and exits from, detailing why it’s so many days in a month or months in a year. But so hard to listen to.

Only if you really want it

I have wanted to listen/read the Books of Enoch for quite some time. Traveling by car a lot for work, audiobooks are much easier for me to get through than actual reading so I picked this up. It's really hard to "rate" the content, since that would be like rating the stories in the Bible, but I really liked the narration/narrator. His voice was not annoying and his reading style was fluid and smooth. The narrator can really make the audiobook - If I listen to a good book with a bad narrator, it's bad... if I listen to a good narrator, I can forgive some of the shortcomings of a book.

Great listen, thanks!

Good narration...
