Resumen del Editor

This is an academic work describing how the New Testament writers re-purpose Genesis 6:1-5 in their presentation of Jesus as messiah. Though every topic addressed in Reversing Hermon can be found in scholarly academic literature, Reversing Hermon is the first book to gather this information and make it accessible to Bible students everywhere. The book also includes lengthy appendices on the ancient debate on the inspiration of the book of 1 Enoch, New Testament allusions to the book, and academic resources for studying 1 Enoch and the Book of Giants from the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Greatly informative! I will be adding a Physical Copy to my Library

Another great book from DR. HEISER. The amount of insight that is provided to the Reader re: textual, historical, cultural and translational considerations is mind blowing. Each one (1) of Dr. Heiser’s books provide me with: 1) A deeper understanding of God;
2) A stronger desire to know him;
3) A more blessed Soul; and 4) A stronger deterrent to know and understand the TORAH and Testimonies of the LIVING GOD! I enjoyed the narration, Mr. Duty, did a great job demonstrating the Authors’s tones, inflections and meaning and he did this while helping to keep my Attention.

Fantastic information

Wonderful companion to Unseen Realm. Gives a deeper look at the Enochian content and the relation to the 2nd temple world view.

Anointed.

Praise Jesus Christ for this book. Lots of good, edifying revelation is revealed through this book.

This book is great and loved it.

The performance was very annoying. He over acted in his reading and sounded sarcastic regularly.

Great book but this narrator....

I love all the books by Dr. Heiser (may he rest in peace) however this narrator is BAD. His mispronunciations are incredibly distracting and he breaths like he weighs 500 pounds and just walked up a flight of stairs.

Wow! What an eye opener

"Reversing Hermon" is a book written by Dr. Michael Heiser that explores the supernatural worldview of the ancient Israelites and how it relates to the biblical concept of the "sons of God" and their role in the Book of Enoch. Heiser argues that the biblical writers believed that the "sons of God" were a group of divine beings who rebelled against God and intermarried with human women, producing a hybrid race of giants known as the Nephilim.

One of the main themes of the book is the idea that the biblical writers were influenced by the mythology and religious beliefs of the cultures around them, and that they adapted these beliefs and used them to communicate their own unique theological ideas. Heiser draws on a wide range of sources, including the Bible, the Book of Enoch, and ancient Near Eastern mythology, to support his argument.

Overall, "Reversing Hermon" is a well-researched and thought-provoking book that challenges many traditional interpretations of the Bible. It provides a fresh perspective on the supernatural worldview of the ancient Israelites and offers new insights into the biblical concept of the "sons of God" and their role in the larger narrative of the Bible. Whether you agree with Heiser's conclusions or not, the book is sure to stimulate further discussion and debate on these fascinating topics.

if you have read Heiser's other book, Unseen Realm, you'll definitely want to read this one.

Great collection of thoughts on the subject.

I have the other works of Dr. Michael Heiser. This one in particular focuses on the sin of the watchers. I like how the original research he did for The Unseen Realm is so broad that many other books can come out of it with more research on the focused subjects. The only reason I took one star off of the performance is that the narrators voice will change between certain areas of the book. I can only guess it had to be rerecorded or done after the previous recording and added in later. It's not anything obtrusive but when listening it is noticable. I highly recommend reading or listening to The Unseen Realm as a basis to get a good understanding of Dr. Heiser's thought process.
