Engaging but too violent for me

A bit too violent for me and scary to know that prison could actually be that terrible

The Start of a Great Series

Adam Plantinga's first series novel is nothing but awesome. Easy read, tough to put down. Can't wait for the next one!

This should be a movie!

This was a great listen! Dark, humorous, exciting and unpredictable. It reminded me of a Hunger Games meets Terminal List kind of story and the narrator’s performance sold it. I am eagerly awaiting waiting for Adam Plantinga’s next listen!

Could not put down

Adrenaline rush! Not your usual plot/ending. Terrifying till the end. Use the credit and enjoy the ride.

Action Packed!

I would love to see this book turn into a movie. The narration was excellent with so many different voices and inflections and he read at a good pace. The characters were well-developed, with several that I loved...and several that I hated. There are no dull moments.

Very well written entertaining story

I checked for a sequel to this book before I even finished it. Finding this book is like finding a twenty in your coat pocket upon first (current) cold weather wearing. An unexpected treat. Well written grrreat! Narrators! Great voice, dude! It really fit who you come to know the (anti) hero is. Obsessive compulsion to right wrongs. In spite of the cost. Ms. Lakin, Mr. Plantinga and Mr. Halford- let's get the band back together!!!!! I did not recap the story. Others have done that. I loved this story. I am aware that taste is relative. I encourage everyone who has gotten this far to give it a listen .

Really hoping this book becomes a series!

I am an Audible power listener approaching 2000 titles and I have to say this listen most definitely lands in the top 1%. If you are a Jack Reacher, Mitch Rapp, or Orphan X (etc) fan you will love this book. I was so impressed I wanted more and was disappointed to find out that there is nothing. Not another novel anyway. Not even from the male narrator. He did a fantastic job and has a fantastic voice. I highly recommend this book. It quickly drew me in and was so engaged that I finished in 2 stints and that's because I had to sleep. I don't normally take the time to leave a review past the star rating but I want to make sure others have the opportunity to enjoy this listen.

Jack Reacher like

Fast action. A lot of violence. Very accurate depiction of a prison in the inmates behavior.
