Very Fun

This isn't my normal genre but heard the author on a podcast and the book sounded like it would be a nice change of pace. It was. I may have neglected my family slightly as i binged this story in a day and a morning and look forward to the next book in the series.

Amazing book!

The Ascent is a well written story with interesting characters sprinkled with compelling insights only a real cop could know. I loved this book.

Really good but a lot of Gore!

This was a very intersting listen. I enjoyed it and could not put it down! There is however a lot of gore in this so please be warned by that. The only thing that is a little confusing is having two narrators who are speaking as the same characters. Overall very enjoyable read and would recommend.

Immediate captivating plot

A favorite subject for many of us is justice. It’s a central theme here. Not necessarily completely achieved, but definitely pursued. Well read And quick to follow.

A gripping audiobook that masterfully blends suspense and intrigue. Plantinga's storytelling keeps listeners on the edge of their seats throughout the entire journey. The characters are well-developed, the plot is engaging, and the narration is top-notch. Overall, a must-listen for fans of mystery and thrillers.

Engrossing!

The main character reminds me of Reacher. Tough, funny with integrity and just the right balance of irreverence. Colorful, fascinating characters going through a seemingly impossible situation.

The intensity of the story.

An amazing read. It really captured the picture of good versus evil on a real world level.

Quick Pace full of action

This was a fun, quick listen. I like the changing between the characters to hear from their perspectives. It moved fast and I could definitely see this being a series.
