A Good Historical Account

A great look at the founding of our country using the actual writings of our Fathers. The story tells details missed in history books and is written in a manner that is easy to read and feel the emotions interspersed in the text. I found it hard to set down and can't wait to read the next volume. If you like history, this is a must read.

I read and loved American Colonies, this is a great read right after that. Very thoughtful and resourceful - many details I haven't heard before. My strong recommendations for history lovers.

One of the best books on American history I have ever read. Incredibly comprehensive, it sets the context of the founding of the country by explaining what was going on internationally, in the West Indies, with the Indians and in the minds and hearts of the people living in the 18th century. Read this to appreciate that the United States is truly an experiment and we are still experimenting.

One of the best book on American history.

It is a good experience here. The style, quite frankly, was choppy and left me cold and disinterested. There are just too many better books like John Feeling's "Whirlwind" and Middleman's "The Glorious Cause" that make for a much better presentation if you are looking for an account on how and why the Revolution was fought.

My first experience here.
