The Lone Keeper has an entire world to protect, but that world is about to get a whole lot bigger…

After discovering that his presence in Derelya has a detrimental effect on the ambient energy if he stays in one place for too long, Bax is determined to keep on the move. Forced to go solo after his Party abandoned him, his entire goal is to learn more about the world he is duty-bound to protect, while also attempting to gain the support of the population–all despite being one of the despised Keepers.

On his travels, he stumbles across an individual who is just as much of an outcast as himself. Teaming up, Bax hopes to one day help the new addition to his Party get stronger and potentially even become another Keeper to join him in his efforts to save Derelya from the monsters that threaten it…

…until a Task to defeat a Remnant goes sideways. Despite eliminating the powerful monster, his new Party member is unfortunately killed soon after; in an effort to get her back, Bax accidentally does something that will change the world–and the entire Retrogression System–forever.

This story contains an overpowered main character, LitRPG progression mechanics and stats, and isekai/portal fantasy elements. Contains no sexual content or harems.

The Alternate Keeper by Jonathan Brooks.

Bax is trying to adjust to his new reality. He is the only Keeper left and forced to stay on the move. In a chance encounter, Bax meets an outcasted woman and forms a fast friendship. Until she is killed in battle. In his grief, Bax does everything he can to save her, altering reality itself in the process.

This is a great OP MC Isekai litrpg. You can just feel the guilt and loneliness coming off of Bax. He was tossed into a situation way outside of his comfort. The new character is a great addition and I’m interested to see where it goes. Miles Meili did a great job with the narration.

Jonathan Brooks cranks the dial to epic in The Alternate Keeper, where Bax’s journey explodes into alternate timelines and a training dungeon that’s basically a paradise for stat junkies.

This sequel doesn’t just expand the world—it multiplies the opportunities. Alternate realities mean new powers, new quests, and wild chances to rewrite destiny. And the dungeon? It’s the ultimate grind spot, where every battle, every challenge, every clever move makes those glorious numbers go up.

With Miles Meili’s narration bringing the chaos to life, this is pure LitRPG dopamine: overpowered MC antics, universe-sized stakes, and progression that feels like rocket fuel.

If you loved The Lone Keeper, Book 2 is where the game truly levels up.

Alternate timelines + dungeon grind = numbers go ⬆

Walking through Derelya in this story feels like living inside a power fantasy with teeth. The stats are broken, the System pop-ups are constant, and combat hits fast and hard, but there is always a cost to unleashing that much power on a world that already fears you.

What really stands out is how being overpowered never makes things easy. Traveling alone, poisoning the land just by staying still too long, losing someone in a fight that should have been a victory, and then pushing past the System’s limits to fix it, all of it makes every win feel intense and dangerous instead of effortless.

Having had the fate of the world(s) thrust on him in the last book, the MC has the unenviable dilemma of where to start. He's missing an instruction manual. I enjoyed the story. I do end up a bit with stat fatigue; fortunately, it only shows up occasionally. I've enjoyed most of Jonathan Brooks' stories, and this one did well holding my interest.

Too much power man
