As usual Beverly Jenkins delivered and Kin did an amazing job narrating. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Independent woman & successful color family

Loved the read! Yep me engaged the whole way through. Not usually attracted to the older time periods but loved the twists and turns.

Great story!

I laughed and cried. Beverly Jenkins really knows how to bring humor to her novels and this one was no exception. I laughed in the first chapter and smiled and laughed and cried during their journey. Kudos to love.

Narrator aged characters

I really enjoy historical books by Beverly Jenkins, and I usually enjoy this narrator. However, I have noticed that her voice seems a bit mature for some of the characters. I thought Regan was in her late 20's to early 30's but the narrator made her seem much older. I also was hoping that Mrs. Jenkins would mention Sable and/ or the Fontaine's other sister in the story. I loved Sable and Raymond's story so much it could just be wishful thinking on my part. Overall, I enjoyed the story.

Worth the wait

I like it. I finished it in one day. I hope there’s another book about the Fontaine/Carmichael clan

I loved it!!!!! The characters were great, the story line was wonderful, and it was entertaining.

Great story and narration

This was a great story. I liked the main characters and the plot was really interesting. It wasn't the typical romance and I likes it. I'll read more by this author.

Lovely end to a wonderful series

I loved this book so much and I know I say that after every Beverly Jenkins novel but it’s because she writes love stories that enrich, enlighten and educate while giving us the HEA we long for. When people ask for recs, I always start with Beverly Jenkins.

I love that we got to see a fiery, headstrong Regan get the guy and a community all in one incredibly adventurous tale. I love that we see the horrors of the era without sugarcoating any of it encapsulates around a love story that centers on hope. I love that we see a “broken” family heal through love and acceptance. I love that I get to learn about life on the frontier for POC. I love that sex is shown on the page as a conduit for the connection two people share and how sometimes it’s not a love match but when it is, the lovemaking is that much sweeter.
