Resumen del Editor

Swift and deadly, the Yuuzhan Vong have blasted their way across the galaxy—and now stand on the threshold of total victory. Yet a courageous few still dare to oppose them. . . .

Rife with hostile cultures and outright enemies, the Unknown Regions holds many perils for Luke Skywalker and the Jedi, searching for Zonama Sekot, the living planet that may hold the key to dealing once and for all with the Yuuzhan Vong.

Meanwhile, on the edge of the galaxy and in the heart of a trusted ally, old enemies are stirring. The Yuuzhan Vong have inflamed long-forgotten vendettas that are even now building up to crisis point. And as Han and Leia journey on their quest to knit the unraveling galaxy back together, betrayal and deception await them. . . .

Worth the read

Some folks find this book irrelevant to the overall story of the series, but I found it quite interesting and it's story is wrapped in previous lore coming to an unexpected (to the Bakurans) come around. It's worth a listen, and has character developelment that does matter for the future of some of the characters. Without spoilers. thumbs up.

missing context

I thought I had missed a book. Missing context, nothing to do with the rest of the series. Do not read this book, just skip to the next one.

Completely Unrelated and Confusing

Skip this book it's completely unrelated from the last book and it's confusing.

I'm buying the next book hopefully it continues the story I was enjoying.

Boring and irrelevant

I’ve listened to all of the NJO books so far. This is the only one that I outright had to skip. It is entirely filler and has nothing to do with the novel before or after. It is basically treated as a sequel to The Truce at Bakura, which occurred almost 20 years before, and didn’t need a sequel. Maybe the actual unabridged book makes more sense, but this audiobook is easy to skip. Just read the wookiepedia to see what happens. The next book is much better, but this trilogy is uninteresting as a whole.

The worst Star Wars audiobook in my library?

First, whoever decided to heavily abridge this series made a big mistake. Key events are skipped, and you often wouldn't know why something matters just based on the audiobook.

This is the worst in the series. The events have nothing to do with the NJO story. Also, the characters behave very differently than elsewhere in the series. For example, Jaina Solo goes from being one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy to being repeatedly, casually beaten by a lone thug.

The narration is good, but even that bright spot is worn down by the strange, unnecessary story that does nothing for the series as a whole.

Story doesn't fit into series

Weird book! In the midst of 20+ books, as part of the New Jedi Order series, this one has nothing to do with the enemy of the Jedi, the Yuzong Vong, and barely anything in common with any of the other 20+ books. Very random and out of character from the rest of the series, all of which I have given either 4 or 5 Stars.

abridged and mangled...narrated well

oh my....got to second book in the series and had no idea what was going on....the abridgement in the first one must have cut out so much that there is zero continuity here....audible folks arent you listening to all the rants in reviews of your abridged star wars books? do something and finally release unabridged versions already!!!!!!

Don’t buy abridged

I am running out of unabridged Star Wars books. So I figured I’d give an abridged version a try.... yeah that was a mistake. The worst part of abridged is trying to understand what is happening in the story. Which is the exact opposite of why I listen to the stories. I went from the first heretic story to this one and I can’t even figure out how the two stories are in the same series. It’s really jarring. I will never buy another abridged book again.

One of the worst of this series!

Would you try another book from Sean Williams and/or Jonathan Davis?

Yes

What could Sean Williams have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Make it part of the story line. Seems as part II was just filler to lead up to part III. Thoroughly disappointed. Almost felt deceived. Only continued to the end to see if it could possibly get better or have some relevance. It did not. Here's hoping Part III does not pick up where II left off.
