Resumen del Editor

The war that erupted in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones is nearing its boiling point. The dauntless Separatist forces continue their assault on the teetering Republic as the diabolical triumvirate of Count Dooku, General Grievous, and their Master, Darth Sidious, fine-tune their strategy for conquest. In Episode III Revenge of the Sith the fates of key players on both sides of the conflict will be sealed. But first, crucial events that pave the way to that time of reckoning unfold in a labyrinth of evil.

Capturing Trade Federation Viceroy and Separatist Councilmember Nute Gunray is the mission that brings Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, with a squad of clones in tow, to Neimoidia. Their daring efforts yield an unexpected prize: a unique holotransceiver that bears intelligence capable of leading the Republic forces to their ultimate quarry, the ever-elusive Darth Sidious.

Swiftly taking up the chase, Anakin and Obi-Wan follow clues from the droid factories of Charros IV to the far-flung worlds of the Outer Rim...every step bringing them closer to pinpointing the location of the Sith Lord, whom they suspect has been manipulating every aspect of the Separatist rebellion.

Then the trail takes a shocking turn. For Sidious and his minions have set in motion a ruthlessly orchestrated campaign to divide and overwhelm the Jedi forces and bring the Republic to its knees.

Featured Article: Tap into Your Inner Jedi (or Sith) with the 66 Best Star Wars Audiobooks in the Galaxy

In the 45 years since George Lucas's interstellar fantasy epic Star Wars first hit theaters, the saga has grown to include 12 canonical feature-length films (and counting), a growing number of shows (both animated and live-action), and hundreds of novels and comics inspired by that galaxy far, far away. But there's nothing quite like the magic of a Star Wars audiobook. The stories featured in this collection are as vast and varied as the universe in which they're set.

insight into the clone wars

I really love all the extra material with Star wars but especially the material involving episode 3

if you just watch the movie it almost doesn't even make sense but when you add all of the extra material you really start to gain a respect for the writing

That business on Cato Nomdia doesn’t count

This book is awesome. Even abridged. This story takes us on the hunt for Darth Sidious. While working with the original clone wars series this novel excels. Once it was “The Official Prequel” to Episode 3. Now it’s it’s a Legend. Which is fine with me. The novelization of 1-4 are all Legends anyway. Seriously look it up. I digress. This is a great novel stating Mace Windu and his commandos, as well as Obi-Wan and Anakin. Sit back and enjoy and awesome story (I like to think of old Legends as mini audio movies of books I loved.)
Don’t hate. Embrace the peace of Star Wars Legends. Proven entertainment from 1977 to 2014. There is enough reading for half a life time. May the Force Be With You.

Interesting Way To Lead Into Revenge of the Sith

This story was interesting, in that it tells the events that lead up to the beginning of Episode III. With the seventh season of Clone Wars, parts of this story may be retconned, but the book seems to take inspiration from the 2003 Gennedy Tarkovsky Clone Wars special.

The story is interesting, but I have to admit, a lot of what happens in the first half I found... boring. Obi-wan and Anakin are just tracking down a mechnochair's manufacturers to find a trail to Sidious, which had entertaining points, but for the most part fell flat for me. However, when the invasion of Coruscant (from the opening of ROTS) happens, they seem to toss that plotline aside like it didn't exist. The invasion itself was pretty cool, especially the parts with General Grievous. I also really liked the part when someone saw Sidious' true identity as they died.

Jonathan Davis of course did great, and surprised me with a Grievous voice similar to the one used in Gennedy's Clone Wars. All and all a good performance, though I can't say it stood out compared to his other work.

Very good story, but why abridged?

I think anyone truly interested in the whole story of The Clone Wars, would like this. Knowing how it ends doesn't lessen the intrigue. I just wish we could get more of these stories unabridged in audiobook format.

great story but I'm going to rant about sound.

as with most star wars audiobooks I wish I could turn off the HVAC sounds off during the book. it's frustrating sometimes having to hear that while you listen. be nice if you could shut it off.

Perfect Companion to Revenge of the Sith!!

Despite being abridged, Labyrinth of Evil does an exceptional job at keeping it’s audience hooked with every twist or turn. I’ve read the novel and there’s not much of any importance in the book that is cut out for this abridged version that the Revenge of the Sith novelization doesn’t include. If anything, this version is just simply more efficient in telling it’s story than the unabridged version. There’s actually only one time while I had been listening to this production that felt like I had missed something, and it was just simply a minor reference to something else. More of a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment. Overall, Labyrinth of Evil is the perfect companion to Revenge of the Sith and is best experienced as one overarching story, read back-to-back. I don’t think Labyrinth of Evil in abridged form is strongest as a standalone book; however, when combined with the Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover, it’s actually one of the best Star Wars books you can buy and really enhances the overall narrative in a way the movie never could!!

Bridging the gap

The book does a wonderful job filling in gaps b/n episodes 2&3. Fleshing out how Palpatine remained hidden from both sides while manipulating the Republic politics at the same time.
