Overall storyline was great. Ends in a HUGE CLIFFHANGER!!!

Truly loved that this RH romance didn’t just dive right into nonstop smut. (Although, I do love me some smut…) The steam was low key and amazing. Female narrator was great, as she always is. But the male narrator needs to only do one male character’s voice. He shows no emotion or inflection, no difference whatsoever in the voices! He will get louder with one voice vs another but who wants someone yelling at them throughout their listen??

Now, the story. Basically, this girl decides to give up everything to take care of her dying, elderly father so he can die peacefully. She gives up her right to her own family and friends and makes several enemies along the way. She goes through a boot camp of sorts and graduates from that with top honors and becomes first pick (aka: a pawn) to be paired with an Alpha/Omega pack (aka: also pawns). There is a Beta governor (we will call him the king) and the Alpha governor (we will call her the queen). The queen and king are both very hinky. You don’t know what either of them is really playing at until the last 5-10 minutes of the book. There’s some really odd things going on in the book that might make some people get aggravated and say aw, hell naw… but, you’ll pick it back up bc you have to know what happens next ;-)

enjoyed the narration

this book was cringy at best it just drove out. if you want to listen to a whiny Omega talk about how she's just not good enough and nobody ever wants her. I was waiting for the plot to happen with turns save your credit or in my case the eight bucks to add it. not worth it.

Is kinda tough enough?

I was hoping for a tough female lead along with a beta story. Turns into omega still. Many modern tech ignored or omega verse norms forgotten. The narrators did well as always but still not sure I want to finish a trilogy of this.

I mean it's an ok story. I think it's missing a lot. could have been way longer. some of it made no sense.

It felt like everything went sorta fast and yet slow as the same time. I didn’t realize it was gonna end on a cliffy. Not sure if I will continue series.. I need so much more spice to enjoy an omegaverse style book.

Slow burn

So good. Characters were relatable. Touch starved alpha gets two omegas at the end. Couldn’t sleep I had to listen to both books. Now I will sleep good knowing Mila got her happily ever after.

Good but a series

I liked the story, until I realized it’s a shorter book that leaves you hanging. I started the second book but returned it once I recognized the pattern. Book one is great. Book two is about 4 hours of waffling from I betrayed for a reason, but did I? I don’t deserve them, or do they not deserve me? On and on and on. I couldn’t do it and wished I never started the series. Author should not string along the reader by making 5 short books that could have been 2 decent length books.

Meh

I normally don’t buy short books unless they are doubled. Six hours for repetition isn’t what I was looking for. The story idea was great. Sadly there was a lot of padding, after the sixth time of being reminded about the omegas training we got it.

I don’t think I can blame the narrators. Though all the guys sounded the same no personality but alpha hole and loon knife guy. The beta was damn whiny on sections where things were supposed to be upbeat. I’m only a few minutes into the second part of the series still whiny. Most likely written that way but whew is it grating.

Cliff hanger

While I don’t mind cliff hangers I prefer to know them up front. Not enough substance in the first book. It really could have been a great one.

Horrible plot

These are my favorite narrators so I had gotten in the habit of listening to every book they narrate, well unfortunately they are not being as selective as they once were in choosing what to narrate. This book is absolute trash. Truly one of the worst plots ever. Almost like somebody threw a bunch of omegaverse books into a bot and this is the garbage that came out on the other side. It’s just terrible.
