No, seriously, I've been waiting twenty years to be able to answer this. Trust me, being hidden away in another country with a nanny, a groundskeeper, his son (my ex-best friend), and the wicked witch of the west—a.k.a. my stepmother. I'm dying to spill the tea.

Leaving behind my hobby as a thief of the rich and famous, I'm ready to storm the gates of the family castle, ruffle some feathers, and stab some haters. This boss-ass-beeyach isn't taking crap from anyone while looking damn good doing it. The world is changing, and I wouldn't want them to forget that this broad is now in charge, high heels and all.

Well, now.

Was not expecting that at ALL. Full disclosure, my reviews tend to be negative. Scathing, almost. And I’m a little stumped that I’ve got nothing negative to offer here.

Okay, let’s see. First and most importantly (to me), the author didn’t lie to us. Most “bad b!tch” books have the author referring to the LFC as a “tough as nails”, but she really isn’t. Like, at all. Although she curses like a sailor and tosses her hair around a lot, she becomes this sappy pile of goo when the first guy shows her some attention.

Not this LFC. She’s tough in the best way. Whenever I’m afraid she’s going to go soft on an issue, she hold strong. The only exception to that being when she faces her fatter about a big secret he’d been holding from her. Then, she wasn’t as much of a powerhouse. Otherwise, perfecto.

I like that her lieutenants are all drawn individually with their own specific set of traits and issues.

Waiting for that next credit so I can buy the next on the series!

I only have 3 hours left and I gotta say I can’t wait to get to book 2,3 and 4!! This book is amazing and so I’m so ready for everything that comes next! One of my best reads and I’ve read alllloootttt of books so that’s saying something!

Very Little Spice as it’s an intro to the world and all the players

Mafia Princess / RH / Criminal Underworld /Strong FMC / Boss Babe / On The Spectrum/ Twists and Turns / Dual Narration

Such a breathe of fresh air having a strong FMC that doesn’t rely on her MMCs to take care of her problems. Astin comes straight out of the gates to stir ish up, completely underestimated by all, and pretty much puts everyone in their place on what an ish show they’ve been running.

Extremely smart and dangerous, she’s the perfect Mafia Queen. I cannot wait to see what damage she causes as she fully comes into her own.

And I do love that one of the MMCs is clearly on the spectrum. Brilliant with numbers and logic, emotional feelings and human interactions and responses are like a foreign language to him. I love how Aston takes him just as he is and appreciates him from the start with such surprising care.

I appreciate seeing more people being represented, especially showcasing their unique gifts and not as a victim or burden. Kudos.

Dangit, now I have to buy the rest of the audiobooks in the series! Does end on a cliffhanger!
