Non-stop adventure

Hard to put down. Believable characters, amazing and well thought-out world with a mix of primitive and futuristic cultures with martial arts focus.

This book is just too good

I literally went through this book in a day. I listened to it at work and couldn’t put it down when I got home. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. Book 1 was amazing and this continued the trend.

More of the same book.

There wasn't really a story conclusion between book 1 & book 2. This is really a straight-laced chapter two, and not at all really a 'story two'. Both are short if you're into epic fantasy. The tone doesn't really change until book 3, and it isn't for the better.

it does not feel like the mc is the mc anylonger

as title said this story has now been taken over or so it feels once you reach the end. He will gain strenght alot of it but still it feels like to little, I dont like the setup the author made no mather how strong mc will get his companions (future)will magicly keep up with him so it gives the feeling that he is just a very small part of the solution while others are the real one. I would prefer a wuxia were the mc would leave and gain strenght on his own instead of begging but not in this novel.

A Series of the Ages

I listen to a lot of books by the standards of most. A vast majority of them being of the fantasy and science fiction genres. I listened to this book - and the rest of the series directly after - earlier this year, 2020, and it quite honestly changed me in a profound way.

If you’re here for a cultivation novel, look no further. The mechanics whir as if coated in butter composed of pure silk.

If you’re here for progression fantasy - X marks the spot, my friends. London starts with nothing and... Well, just read it to find out and then thank me later.

If you’re here looking for best friends and arch rivals amongst the characters between each push of the play/pause button, be prepared to shed unexpected tears and to startle those who walk past you at the grocery when you have sudden onset laughter full of pure joy - or stark insanity.

If you’re here for a truly captivating story, I listened to the seven of these that were out at the time in nearly the amount of time it would have taken to listen without pause. I’m back for seconds.

Whatever your reason for stumbling on this book, give it a shot. Truly I tell you, you will not regret this.

it's a great introduction to the wider world and hard not to love our hero's as they climb ranks of power. can't wait for the next volume.

Completely surprised and, completely pleased

I could not put these books down. They were compelling and I felt engrossed in a world that is clever and intriguing and pulled me in without weighing me down. These books are fantastically written and performed, I am only sad that the series is not complete yet. I trust the author to deliver a story in packaging that is perfectly palatable and pleasing. Nicely done. Highly recommended.

Kept me engaged

Great writing and character development. It lags sometimes because it spends too much time on setting and world building for my taste, but this universe is also truly original. I hope this series moves beyond the "might makes right" power hierarchy thing, if so this series has the potential to create a truly beautiful and profound metaphor.

I found something I've been looking.

these last two big books have been amazing and I'm just going to keep on it absorbing them and tell her all gone I hope this series continues completely and It will have my full support
