One winter's night, a lone figure arrives on foot in a remote Pennine village.

Anne Tilston, one of three sisters living in a brooding run-down house in the shadow of the church, realises that the dead man is her father, a disgraced former senior police officer long estranged from his family.

As DCI Kenny Murrain's team arrive in the village to investigate the unexplained death, a further body is discovered in a nearby field - a young man from the village with no apparent connection to Tilston or his daughters.

With the snow continuing to fall, another body is discovered, and Murrain finds himself stranded with his team in the sisters' house with a seemingly motiveless killer waiting outside in the night.

Twisty

Kept me guessing! The pile up of bodies the overlap of storylines made this an engaging listen.

Wonderful series.

Loved the interesting storyline, the characters, Greg Wagland's narration is perfect. Hope there is lots more to come with DCI Murrain and partners.

The Landscape

Liked the lot less in this book but the landscape as a character was great

Chilling!

A very well paced story. The narrator did a fantastic job with building tension and pacing this wonderful story. The author paints the most realistic picture of a group of people trapped by snow and danger lurking outside.

Loved it

I’m really enjoying this series, but this is definitely my favorite so far. I felt like I was trapped in that old Victorian house on am incredibly snowy night with everyone. The twist at the end was fantastic as well! I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store!

Slow moving and predictable story line.

A fantastic narrator of a slow story, with still relationships and the story twists were pretty predictable.
