Resumen del Editor

"The greatest writer of historical adventures today." —Washington Post

Critically acclaimed, perennial New York Times bestselling author Bernard Cornwell (Agincourt, The Fort, the Saxon Tales) makes real history come alive in his breathtaking historical fiction. Praised as "the direct heir to Patrick O'Brian" (Agincourt, The Fort), Cornwell has brilliantly captured the fury, chaos, and excitement of battle as few writers have ever done—perhaps most vividly in his phenomenally popular novels following the illustrious military career of British Army officer Richard Sharpe during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. In Sharpe's Prey, Sharpe must prove his mettle once again after performing courageously on Wellesley's battlefields in India and the Iberian Peninsula, as he undertakes a secret mission to Copenhagen, Denmark in 1807 to prevent a resurgent Napoleon from capturing the Danish fleet. Perhaps the San Francisco Chronicle said it best: "If only all history lessons could be as vibrant."

A New Adventure for Sharpe

A great follow on to Sharpe’s Trafalgar. He really has bad luck with the ladies.

A piece of well-researched history

Although the characters in this story are for the most part imaginary, yet the documentary aspects of Britain’s expedition to Denmark are accurately portrayed. Bernard Cornwell is a masterful storyteller and Rupert Farley an excellent narrator

Sharpes back on land, and back to good form.

This has been a bloody great sharpe book, with the voice work, tension and action as always back up to par. I did not at all like the previous entry, and quite loved this one. I am however, noticing some repetition that i hope does not continue throughout the series. Much as i know that romance is a perfectly fine and acceptable way to bring tension and character growth, i have found that these last two books efforts with it, while in the end good sort of. End nowhere.

Still, a great time, a great piece of historical fiction and Rupert makes the pages come to life and is a joy to listen to.

Still good but not as others

Missing the historic notes at the end that really illustrate how amazing the author is at holding true to history.

Another excellent installment

An enjoyable continuation of the saga of Richard Sharpe. This is a must-read series for those interested in historical fiction of the Napoleonic era, doing for the British army of the time what Patrick O'Brien's series did for the British navy.
The narration by Router Farley is superb. He is easy to listen to and does an admirable job with varying accents
