I don’t love that it left off on a cliffhanger but over all the book was great

When it comes to nonfiction settler stories you'll be hard pressed to find better reading.

Spectacular fireside entertainment.

Of the 7 stories in the Little Britches set, this was our least favorite. There was not enough variety in the chapters and we tired of Lonny. Still, it was ok, but I’m just being honest here. Anxious now for book 7.

it's been half a century, but I remember it like it was last week! The year was 1967 and my parents had just split up. Dad went back to Southern California and I dropped out of seventh grade. Mom and we four kids landed near Walla Walla Washington. After spending part of the Summer (one day) digging up Walla Walla Sweet Onions. (another story for anOTHER day), my younger brother and sister and I were enrolled at Milton Stateline school barely over the Oregon - Washington "state line".
This was to be my second shot at seventh grade. Math had been too much for me, with the family turmoil the year before. My teacher's name was Harold Robbins. I really liked him; even after he confiscated my transistor radio and gave me the paddling of my life for defending myself one day after gym class when Danny R came at me with fire in his eyes. (We both liked Marla .... well, and Della!)
Here is what I am getting down to: Each day after lunch, Mr Robbins would play music by Sons of the Pioneers and / or read to us from a book by Ralph Moody. All I remember was stories about horse falls for the movies and the nickname "Little Britches". Those were good memories at a time in my life when there weren't to many good things worth remembering!
Imagine my profound delight, discovering the Ralph Moody books here on Audible!
Thankyou. Audible, and Cameron Beierly for enriching my life, way back when.....and again now!

Thanks a LOT Mr Robbins!
