Good read

I enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were relatable. I put this in what I refer to as a light read category which means the violence, sex and cussing were kept to a reasonable amount. It was a book I could read before bed and not want to leave a night light on. It definitely falls into the category of a romantic police story so some of my male friends might not want to read it because of the romance and the police scenes aren't overly detailed or graphic, but I would definitely recommend it to my female friends. All in all I thought it was a good read and gave it four stars.

Great read!

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end. I loved watching these two come together and get to know each other. I really loved Ghost as well, Markus's K-9 partner. Cassidy and Markus were great together and I loved how Cassidy didn't just back down from Markus and once they started to figure each other out, things went pretty smoothly in getting along and helping each other out. Markus is recovering and hiding out from a stabbing that almost killed him due to something connected with his secret service work. They are trying to put the pieces together to figure it out. Cassidy is working on recovering from a horrible car accident that happened a year ago and trying to get her freelance accounting up and running. Cassidy is looking in on Markus and taking care of him and he is helping her with a better rehab plan to get her walking without the cane. I loved the role that Ghost played in the story as well. He was a great character and cute and sweet as well as a cop K-9. There were multiple threads going on in the story in regards to action and suspense and it was weaved together well. The further I got in the story, the more engaged I was. This is probably one of my favorites I've read in the series so far and it is a standalone. You do not need to have read any of the others in order to jump in with this one. I am looking forward to the next one in the series though.

The story line

I love the entire book the special apps parts and the romance. I was kept in suspension on many occasions throughout this book.

enjoyed the story

the details of intimate moments is so unnecessary and takes away from the actual story. it's a shame that you have to fast forward through a whole chapter just to get back to the story.

Super exciting and suspenseful

This has great characters, a hilarious dog, many suspenseful moments, wonderful noisy family and great narration. Excellent romantic book with some very sexy times, I highly recommend it.

Excellent series.

Best set of stories I have listened to for a long time. I will recommend it to anyone.

Didn't finish

As a Marine mom I was not happy that the narrator did not pronounce "Marine Corps" correctly. The 'ps' is silent. She said "corpse" like a dead body instead of "core". There were other errors that made it seem like the author didn't proof listen to the audio before publishing it. This series so far wasn't bad until this book brought in homosexuality. I stopped listening at that point and am not finishing the series.
