This was a very good dictionary type primer on the people,places and lore of Scotland. None of it went into much detail,but I think as a first encounter with the topics,it is good.Narration by Christian Neale was well done. I was given this book free for an honest review.

This is not a book for the frowning serious scholar but for those of us who are not Scottish but are interested in how Scotland went from Stone Age to the 21st century. This is also not a book larger than the OED, but something much more manageable to absorb. I liked it a lot. The excellent narration by Christian Neale really added to my appreciation of the material.
I won this audiobook in a giveaway without expectations.

Scotland, what a great history story

The Epic Legends & Untold Stories of Scotland's Past is a very interesting story that I enjoyed listening to. There was so many facts that I did not know about even though my Grandmother was from Edinburgh, they where a blood thirsty lot. If you like to hear about the history of a place, this is the story for you to either read or listen to. I enjoyed listening to Christian Neale's voice as he narrated this story.

I have visited Scotland a few times and always loved my visits there and learning more of its history, this audiobook helps you learn more of not only the place but also of its people! A must listen too!!

A concise but well organized and complete history of Scotland

This lovely history audiobook has given me a much better understanding of the prehistory and history of Scotland. It is very well organized and the excellent narrator enhances the experience. He has an English accent with superb enunciation and a lovely musical tone to his voice.

The text contains abundant detail and covers every age of the formation and development of the Scottish state, including prehistory, Roman, medieval, Renaissance, Industrial Revolution, and modern times. It was fascinating learning how various famous Scottish historical figures fit into the historical timeline and the complicated past politics of Scotland. I especially liked hearing about Macbeth, William Wallace, and Mary Queen of Scots. Due to this cool audiobook I now know why the Jacobite Uprisings started, which gave me useful context for fiction books and TV series that I watch.

Entertaining

Perfect for history buffs who want a deeper dive into the origins of Scotland, the period of Viking invasions, and the lives of kings and queens like Margaret Tudor and Mary Queen of Scots. Loved the background information on William Wallace the real Braveheart that inspired the movie. It was great to get more detail behind the myths of legends of famous Scots.

I enjoy delving into histories of the world. This was well written and I learned quite a bit. The narration was wonderful as well.
