This book is so emotional and beautiful!! I read it a few years ago as he finished the new duet narration.
I love audiobooks as re-reads and LOVE duet narration! Joe and Maxine are incredible bringing Crew and Julia to life!

This story is a reminder to fight for those we love in our lives! Julia is fighting for her daughters life and Crew fights -literally and figuratively for both of them. Life is messy and hard. But love helps with it all!

This is one of my all time favorite books! Adriana Locke writes from the heart, breaks our hearts in this book, tissues required…. But makes us want to love those on our lives a little more!

Heartbreaking and Emotional Story

Sacrifice is a rip-your-heart-out, emotional read that will take you on a rollercoaster journey of devastation, sacrifice and so much love. Julia and Crew along with little Ever are fighters that have to overcome insurmountable obstacles in order to find peace in life and while their journey is not an easy one, it’s uplifting and beautiful in the end.

Julia is just barely surviving after the death of her husband when tragedy strikes her daughter. This forces her to rely on Crew, her husband’s brother and her first love. Their story did not end well and Julia is reluctant to allow him into her heart again, but she soon finds that he is the only one she can truly lean on. Her strength of character in the face of heartbreak is stunning and when she finally lets down her defenses, you see all the love that she’s been burying for years.

Crew broke my heart. He was willing to sacrifice his heart, body, mind and soul for those he loved. I couldn’t fathom the amount of grit and determination he had to provide and protect Julia and Ever. He had made mistakes in the past with his decisions, but he more than made up for them with his actions in the present. His sacrifices brought me to tears and tore my heart out.

The audio of this title was so powerful. Narrated by the fantastic duo of Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, the story is performed in duet and it packs a punch. These two give powerhouse performances full of emotion. They made me feel EVERYTHING!

Sacrifice was not an easy story. It was actually downright painful, but it was also really beautiful. The heartbreak and sacrifice that the characters went through will break your heart, but the intense emotion and angst is gritty and real and will have you on the edge of your seat to find out what will happen. In the end, you will be inspired by how tragedy can become a catalyst for change and growth and help others build a better future.

Angsty and amazing!

This book will take your heart on a rollercoaster ride! It is an angsty, slow burn story with so much emotion. Hang on while your heart breaks and gets put back together.
The narrators really brought this to life with the duet narration! Listening to it really made you feel everything the characters were going through!

OMG

I know it’s early in the year but it’s safe to say that Sacrifice has to be a top favorite audiobook I’ve ever listened to. The story is absolutely incredible. It’s emotional, vulnerable, tension filled. You couldn’t have chosen better narrators for this book. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden were the perfect Jules and Crew Gentry. PERFECT. This story had me glued and nearly listened to the entire book in one sitting, then I got so mad when my headphones died LOL. You have to listen to this story. This is what romances are all about.

Heartfelt, emotional and wonderful!

Oh my heart, the rollercoaster of emotions I went through this story is almost indescribable. “Sacrifice” is a heartfelt, angsty, and emotional story about second chances and the sacrifices you’re willing to make for them.

Julia has been living day to day trying to support her daughter after her husband passed away. A constant figure in her life is his brother, Crew. Julia and Crew have a past and are constantly butting heads. But when the unthinkable happens, Crew steps up and promises to sacrifice whatever he needs to do to make everything right.

This is a story that is going to stick with me for a long time. The passion, the emotions, the sacrifices. Crew, Julia and Everly jumped into my heart right away and I have a feeling they will never leave. Crew and Julia have an interesting and complicated past that shaped them who they are today. Crew might have a hard outer shell but underneath is a man who grew up too soon and has been through some things. Julia has had a tough past as well and they definitely connected on that. There is so much in this story and it’s worth the listen with lots of tissues nearby.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell were PHENOMENAL as Crew and Julia. Their performances were some of their best and I could feel everything as I listened. Joe is never afraid to express his feelings in real life and when narrating. Maxine brought all of Julia’s feelings and heartache to life. And I loved that this was narrated in duet, it brought so much to the story.

An Amazing & Exceptionally Moving Story & Listen🎧

Adriana Locke pens another amazing and beautifully written novel, one that not only captivates your attention the entire book but tugs on your heartstrings too. The characters and storylines are realistic, easy to relate to, connect with and care about. The complexity and layers of the story are fantastic and so is the world building and character growth and development. Crew Gentry lost his chance with Julia when she and his brother grew close and fell in love, but he knew he couldn’t lose her to a better man. But his screw up cost his brother his life, as at least that is how he feels and Julia feels the same. Life has not been easy for Julia after Gage’s death as a single mom to their daughter Everleigh, she struggles to make ends meet. And life is not done messing with her when another tragedy hits close to home. Crew looked out for them despite her not wanting anything to do with him, but now she has no choice but to accept his help and Crew will do whatever it takes to make sure they get the help they need, even if it is at his own expense. This is such a beautifully plotted and moving story, there are some heartrending and gut-wrenching moments and Adriana Locke put these characters thru the wringer but I appreciate how real she kept it. There is never a dull moment in this angsty, drama filled, heartfelt story and sometimes love is better the second time around, especially when they are not ready for each other the first time. Thank you for another amazing story and emotional roller coaster ride.

Their character voices and portrayal of the characters were spot on. They grasped every side of their personality and captured their every emotion and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Emotional story

This is an emotional, angsty book that is unlike most of Adriana Locke’s other books. Jules and Crew have a very complicated history, so when Ever gets sick, they are forced to come together for her sake. I enjoyed seeing Jules let down some of her walls to let Crew back in and allow him to help, in addition to Crew stepping up to be the man he was meant to be. This book is well written and pulls on your heart strings from almost the beginning and through the second epilogue. Definitely recommend this book if you are in the mood for an emotional read. I loved the narrators and their rendition of this story was perfection.

Oh my heart!!!

So many feels with this story! Crew is the man - he does everything for his family even to the point of his own detriment. Julia is a strong woman with a tender heart and a little girl who is her treasure. I loved this story!

Sacrifice packs an emotional punch from Julia having lost her husband, to her struggles to pay the bills, to everything she goes through with her daughter and Crew.

The dual POV was so appreciated as I really got to know and understand both Julia and Crew as their relationship grew. Despite their past issues and the ones they face now, I still liked them together. I thought the story and relationship development were nicely paced. The plot and characters hooked me from page one, and I didn't want to put the book down. This is definitely an emotional and dramatic read, but also one of Adriana's best with great narrators bringing the characters and story to life.
