Just take pictures girl

The whole thing falls apart if she just remembers that phones also take pictures or packs a spare phone battery.

Big CRH fan, but this one didn’t do it for me

Every book by an author might not be equally good as the others, and this, for me, is that book for author Catherine Ryan Howard.

It follows three storylines with many things in common, and all three end up being choppy and forgettable.

Bottom line: If you’re already a CRH fan, read it and see what you think. But if you’re new to CRH as an author, please start with another of her very good catalog of books. She is an excellent writer, and “Run Time” does not do her justice.

Another hit from Catherine Ryan Howard!

I loved this story and the narration.
And while the twists weren’t as dark and twisty as I would have liked, Run Time was thoroughly enjoyable. Howard obviously researched movie-making and screen-writing:

Great book!

I really enjoyed Run Time. I previously listened to Catherine Ryan Howard’s COVID lockdown thriller 56 Days and I knew I wanted to check this one out based on how much I liked it. Run Time did not disappoint. I throughly enjoyed the unique structure of this novel, interspersing sections of screenplay between chapters of regular narrative prose. A truly fresh take on the alternating timelines/POVs I often find tiresome in other books. Although a few minor aspects of the reveal/twist seemed strained to me, I nevertheless enjoyed the story very much. I’ve found that I enjoy listening to Irish crime novels, and other books set in locations removed from my own personal experience, far more that I enjoy reading them with my eyeballs due to the additional layer of detail and immersion added by the narrator. The readers for Run Time do not disappoint, making the Audible edition superior to the print in my personal opinion. I highly recommend Run Time to fans of thrillers and the film industry.

Meta horror, female author and protagonist

I loved this! I’m a huge horror nerd, and I love anything that plays on the final girl trope. I found Adele to be a great protagonist, a working actress with lots of depth and a very believable feminist POV. Her insights into how the Hollywood sausage gets made were spot-on, and I could practically imagine the trailer to the movie she thought she was making. I loved hearing the various Irish accents, all the voice actors were great. Super enjoyable audiobook, it kept me hooked!

It was okay…

Like others have mentioned, I love Catherine Ryan Howard but this was not her best work.

Loved it!

Loved the story and narration. The narrator has a great Irish accent. The story is exciting.

Too long

I normally live this author but I literally just wanted this book to end. It really was that boring. 😕 I wasted a credit.

Very Entertaining

The narration was perfect and the storyline was suspenseful and fun. I would recommend this for a long haul drive to keep you awake. My only complaint is that I found the protagonist unlikable and superficial. She had an unapologetic disconnect from the natural environment - which was necessary for the plot to work. However, this didn’t keep me from staying engaged with the story.
