Resumen del Editor

Dr. Liker's book, Developing Lean Leaders at All Levels: A Practical Guide was a 2016 winner of the Shingo Research and Professional Publication Award. We have taken the time to extract the individual seminars and lectures of Dr. Liker used to create this world-renowned publication and offer them in a series of bite-sized, topic-specific learning modules.

Follow along as we hear Dr. Liker at those actual presentations delivered first-hand to the students of Lean and Lean Practitioners.

Follow along as Dr. Liker explains the Lean Leadership Development Model (LLDM), and how it aligns with the accepted principles of operational excellence. Learn about the behaviors required to sustain it long-term. Understand how leadership must walk the talk of True North. Find out how to actively engage in developing lean leader skills.

The teaching objectives for this section are the following:

  1. Identify three common mistakes in problem-solving
  2. Demonstrate root cause analysis as a narrowing and focusing process
  3. Associate countermeasures with hypotheses that should be tested

Don’t waste your money

This 15 minutes presupposes you are familiar with Toiichi Ono’s work at Toyota.
If you were hoping to find ways to actually implement the five whys in your root cause analysis, go somewhere else.

No Insight into 5 whys. Production is clumsy...

This is a very high level view of 5 whys, with no insight or ideas on how to do it successfully. Other than a few examples by "Tashi Ohno" (mispronounced by the Trachilis, and the examples are poor) there is no learning here. There is more time spent selling the class series and giving subjective "facts" about that "proper" ratio of learning and doing than teaching you anything about the 5 whys.

This audiobook was extremely too short and it was not even a very good listen.
