Resumen del Editor

Adam Wakefield is being lured into a trap. Young, handsome, and eligible, he is given the chance of a lifetime....

Pastoring his small church in Apple Valley, Arkansas, Adam considers the entire valley his congregation. Friends and neighbors all respect him as a man of God. He is content to stay here laboring for the Lord for the rest of his life.

Then he receives a telegram inviting him to become pastor of the largest church in Chicago. At first Adam refuses to accept. Who will care for his widowed mother and his congregation? Finally he surrenders, believing this is God's will. But things are not as they seem. He accepts, unaware he is playing into the hands of extortionists and murderers.

On the train to Chicago, Adam meets and falls in love with Victoria Winters. Nineteen-year-old Victoria's first job as a schoolteacher ends in disaster. Falsely accused of beating a student, she is fired, jailed, and run out of town. But Victoria is not so sure. Can she trust this strange man from the hill country? Can he overcome her fears and win her heart?

This is a very good, relaxing and Inspirational story

River of Fire is a story about a woman wronged. It is also about a young man devoted to God and his fellow man.
Add trauma, danger, dishonesty, integrity, faith, hard work, sacrifice, and miracles to the plot and and this is the entertaining, uplifting tale. It is slightly predictable, but there are enough twists to make it enjoyable.

The story fails to run smoothly from one scene to another. It has mostly the feeling of watching a Play in several Acts, rather than a story. Each chapter’s ending seems somewhat weak and incomplete.

Gregg Rizzo has an alluring tone to his voice when reading. His expressions and fluctuations are perfect. However, he does not do well with accents nor with “voice” manipulations. In the main young man character, the “voice” sounds like a screeching elderly recluse. Some of the other men0’s “voices” sound similar and it is sometimes difficult to tell them apart.

I offer a Three and a Half Stars rating for this narrated book.
