My little brother’s girlfriend was always supposed to be mine.

The first time I met good girl Maggie Sullivan, she was my brother’s guest at Sunday dinner. That should have been enough to keep me away. It wasn’t.

The night I lost my tightly held control—she kissed me back and it was everything I could have ever imagined.

Until our lives changed forever as my family went down in flames.

I left and never planned to come back to our small town.

Now, years later, everyone knows my songs. The ones I wrote about her. The scars that never healed, bleeding out on stage.

Fame and its late nights get tiring, so I’ve returned to Little Falls to right my wrongs.

With only twenty-four hours until perfect, little Maggie Sullivan is reelected mayor uncontested, I decide to throw a wrench into her plans.

Except I’m the one getting screwed again because all these years later, she’s still the only woman I want.

This is a small town former friends to enemies to lovers romance with mid-level open door steam/spice.

In W. Million's Rival Hearts, narrated by the wonderfully talented Corvin King and Charlotte North, listeners are treated to a captivating small-town romance that defies bedtime. This isn't just another love story; it's a tangled web of past hurts, unspoken desires, and a scorching chemistry that leaps from your headphones.

The story centers on Maggie Sullivan and Grady, whose history is anything but simple. Maggie, once the girlfriend of Grady's brother, Trent, always had an undeniable pull towards Grady. Their brief, explosive kiss shattered their tightly held control, only for their lives to be irrevocably altered when Grady’s family implodes, sending him far from their small town of Little Falls to pursue a music career. His songs, etched with the pain of unhealed scars and a longing for Maggie, become famous, but the late nights and fame eventually bring him back home.

Ten years later, Grady returns with a clear agenda: disrupt Maggie's seemingly perfect life as the re-elected mayor and owner of the local pharmacy. He aims to "right his wrongs," but quickly finds himself ensnared by the very woman he's trying to provoke. The push-and-pull between them, fueled by years of unresolved tension and unspoken feelings, makes for an utterly compelling listen.

Corvin King and Charlotte North's narration is exceptional. They bring Maggie and Grady to life, perfectly capturing their complicated emotions and the undeniable sizzle between them. Their performances elevate the "friends-to-enemies-to-lovers" trope, making every stolen glance and heated argument resonate. The pacing of the book is superb; each chapter offers just enough to keep you hooked, desperate for more. The characters are incredibly likable despite their flaws, and their chemistry is truly chef's kiss. If you're a fan of small-town romance with a good dose of "open door" spice, Rival Hearts is an absolute must-listen.

Well, that was a ridiculously good time in my ears!! 👏👏👏👏 This small-town romance is everything a romance fiction should be. The characters had chemistry that built as the relationship grew. They were antagonistic but in the best possible way with excellent wit and banter. The story mirrored life with its ups and downs which made it that much more enjoyable for me. I am 100% behind realistic fiction. I like the good to come with the bad because life, no matter how you try and spin it, is grey. It’s never heartwarming without a little bit of heartbreak. It’s never emotional without a little bit of comedic relief. It’s never just about the MCs but the community as a whole that surrounds them, which makes secondary characters very important and, in this case, I loved them all! This is my first experience with this author, and I want more!

Corvin King & Charlotte North added something special with their performance. Thru them I was able to vividly “see” the story unfold and that’s something that is very important for me when I listen to an audio. However, Corvin King has a very distinctive tone to his voice and that particular tone does not translate well into a female tone. Feel me? He’s the narrator you want in duet performances, not dual performances, but he’s great in all other aspects.

This was my first experience with this author, and I hope to be able to listen to more of this series in the future!

This was a great listen. We have a bit of a miscommunication due to a secret. The rivalry between the FMC and MMC was exciting and kept me engaged and entertained. I definitely recommend this story. I love Corvin King voice and I was so excited when I saw he was the male narrator. Charlotte North and Corvin King did an amazing job narrating this story.

Loved it!

This was the first book I listened to by W. Million and I enjoyed it. This was a sweet second chance, enemies to lovers romance story. I thought the characters and the story were well written.

Corvin King & Charlotte North were the narrators of this audiobook. I felt like they did a good job telling this story. They held my attention through the book and made my listening experience enjoyable.

Maggie is the town mayor and is expected to win a second term. That is until Grady, a famous musician and the older brother of her high school boyfriend, returns and decides to run just to annoy her. But as they are running against each other things start happening between them and it's not all fun and games to Grady anymore.

Maggie and Grady were really sweet characters and I enjoyed their banter along the way. This book will have you laughing, smiling, make you emotional but will leave you with a sweet ending. If your looking for a small town, enemies to lovers romance then I would definitely recommend this audiobook. I look forward to reading or listening to more of her book.

Maggie and Grady have a complicated past, but now that he is back in their small town the sparks fly as they collide and get all tangled up in this forbidden enemies to lovers romance between a good girl keeping secrets and a returning rock star with no intention of sticking around. They are both VERY stubborn. There is a mystery underneath it all and both sides think they know what happened in the past. They are both wrong. They used to be friends, until it all fell apart. He left town and found fame with songs he wrote about her. They are both in denial and find it increasingly difficult to fight the pull. Wendy Million is a new author to me, but I look forward to reading more of her work. The characters are complex and interesting. This book introduces other people in the town and makes we want to know their stories. Don’t miss the bonus epilogue!

Corvin King and Charlotte North are both excellent performers, so I knew I would enjoy this book. I’m narrator motivated, so this is great casting! They both do a wonderful job of layering the different characters and emotional experiences through natural disasters, daring rescues, conflict, and sparks flying between two characters who just can’t stay away from each other.
