struggled with the story. that is unusual for a uris novel. it lacked his usual passion, perhaps because it was an Irish struggle not a Jewish one.

A Great Summary of Trinity

This was helpful in tying up loose ends for all the main characters in Trinity.
Love the history in both books. Narration is good also.

Good story

I enjoyed the continuing story of the Larkin family, but I was disappointed it was abridged.

Too many characters especially at the beginning. Boring story, not up to uris’ standards at all.

Wait for unabridged or read

I <b>really</b> looked forward to this novel because of its setting and reputation, but did not enjoy it. As a previous reviewer suggested, the backgound of the Irish freedom struggle, Gallipoli, and some discussion of the imperialist rationale for WW1 are fascinating and well-woven into the narrative, but as a whole this "listen" failed me - I suspect it's mostly due to the often abrupt abridgements.

The "action" scenes are probably very well-written, but I have little appreciation for those.
