my new favorite book of all time

Exquisite balance of detail and scale. Both epic and intimate, with touching characters and enthralling circumstances. Absolutely superb.

A walk through History

Really enjoyed while driving through the Western states. Wonderful history of animals and people from beginning of time to present.

This book is long but absolutely no waste of time. James A.Mitvhener is time machine. I think you will gain much from this book.

I would like to have the entire book of Centennial. That is what I paid for . It stops during the Skimmerhorn Trail.

One of the best!

This may be the best audio book I’ve ever listened to and in my opinion should be considered as one of the most balanced portrayals of the United States history ever written. What a masterpiece!

History at its finest!

I love the way he turns history into a rememberable story. I've read or listened to several of his books & have found a love for all history in his novels.

Excellent world building

I loved this book. I’m from Colorado and Michener’s use of our history to create a similar but fictional world evoked a lot of fond memories of my childhood growing up on the plains. The book is long and takes a lot to get into, but once you have gotten interested it’s easy to get invested.

This is one of the best books I have listed too in a very long time.

Epic saga focusing on the South Platte river and the town of Centennial.

First: the narrator. He is perfect for this type of documentary style book. Listening to this book is very much like watching any good documentary.
An epic look at Colorado’s history around the South Platte river: the land formation, flora, fauna, dinosaurs, native animal species, including primordial human habitation through eras up to USA’s bicentennial celebration in 1976 . I love documentaries and this book did not disappoint. It took me quite a while to listen to 50+ hours.
