great book on Hawaii

I felt that I learned a lot about Hawaii thru listening to this book. of course, it is Michrner, so it has to be great!

Great book

Great story, good reading. Some of the pidgen was mispronounced. Overall I would strongly recommend.

Sound quality

Great book - love connecting to history through stories of PEOPLE: families, affairs, neighbors. There are a couple spots with noticeably poor sound quality that took me out of the book a little (like 2 out of 925 chapters!), but overall great.

Pleasant surprise

Prior to visiting Maui a few weeks ago I thought I should finally give this a go. Didn’t know what to expect. Wondering whether I could stick with such a humongous tome especially given the narrator’s voice. Pleasantly surprised at how engaging it was. Great characters and impressive prose. Even got used to the narrator. Looking forward to more Michener in the future.

Fantastic

I read this about 15 years ago and even though it's like 1000 pages long I couldn't put it down. Michener develops characters so completely you can't help but get sucked in to find out what happens to them. This audiobook is a really good narration of the book and really brings it to life. 5 stars.
