exceptional read! if you love the history of ww2 you will love this book. a must read.

Not Uris most engaging writing

very good book, fantastic author but I think I expected too much, Trinity and The Haj are two of my all favorites. Battle Cry was very good, but not at the level of his others.

Don’t miss this story

If you like adventure and are a fan of history novels then don’t miss out on this one especially if you enjoy Uris.

Wonderful book. Great story. I really felt for each of the characters. Proud as hell to call myself a US Marine.

One of my favorite books.

I read this book in high school and it sparked my love for reading. I didn't realize how well Uris captures the military experience until I recently listened to it. I finished the book and was moved to tears. The characters are well developed and you will grow to love them. Defiantly worth a listen/read.

Ok performance

I understand a man reading a woman’s voice must be a bit tough, but this guy made all the women characters sound like bad drag queens - that, and his horrible New Zealand accent. He would have been better off just reading them in an American accent.

Regardless, the story was entertaining and detailed, as are all Leon Uris books.

Days gone by…

This was a compelling listen about a time in history that seems so long ago, yet, even as a person under 40 years-old, has had an impact on those I’ve loved. The story demonstrates the human side of war and provided me with a clearer picture of the life of a Marine in WWII. The character development was really good and I found myself profoundly impacted by the physical and emotional pain inherent in war and described in careful ways.
This story demonstrates the truly awesome development of an unbreakable bond between Marines, soldiers, sailors, etc. which is and has been described by so many military veterans and makes the concept approachable to those who have never experienced such circumstances. A worthwhile read, for sure.

Battle Cry

Awesome book. I read this many years ago as a kid, and it was just as great now as then. Uris brings you right into the story!

An excellent story!

Mr. Lawler does an incredible job reading this book! His voice inflection and impersonations are spot on.
