He remembers dying. He remembers darkness. And then…he woke up inside of an egg. Reborn as a dragon in a realm of magic and knights, this plucky fellow doesn’t appreciate his new murderous siblings. He also thinks that the giant ice wyverns should stop screaming so much when they duel for territory, the monster chicken needs to be relocated from his vicinity, small lizards with teeth need to leave him alone, and Cecily Snoweldon is either a gift from above or his form of eternal condemnation. He’s not sure yet. She’s kind of weird.
Join this mini-hero as he awakens and journeys through the world of Xevania. As a dragon with a human soul, he's not sure where he fits in this strange, new world.

Its a reborn book without a game system and stats. That automatically shoots it above some of the more annoying titles that tend to post and read off there pointless "game system" stat block numbers at the end of each chapter. So, if you like me dislike all that this book is going to be great for you.
The narrator does an incredible job. At first his very robotic voice worried me, but his accents are incredible, the effort he put into his job was beyond what I hoped for. He shifts characters with a believable new accent, tone and it feels like I'm watching a podcast of critical role, where matt mercer is switching between different characters as a dungeon master. He makes a few slip ups, unless it's the writing but that's fine. His over all great performance outweighs the few strange, repeated words or potential slip ups that were heard, and he did a truly wonderful job. I hope the future releases don't have those slip ups, but even if they do. I will enjoy them, I'm sure.
The writing struck me as the weighting of a beginning author that made a few mistakes and perhaps didn't have an editor or someone to go back and fix a few of them. But the plot is great, the overall story is incredible. The main character is lovable. They don't lose their humanity but are draconic enough to be believable. Despite the some of the writing errors and potentially the narrator's errors I seem to have heard the story narration and overall performance was in my opinion so great that I happily give the entire experience a 5/5
