A powerful testimony of perseverance in the pursuit of an authentic relationship with God

I very much enjoyed listening to Lisa’s audiobook “Real Talk with God”. My own perception of what is possible when I invite God into every feeling and memory and allow Him to show me His perspective has opened up greatly. I felt often surprised at the way God showed up in her conversations with her, often delighting her with the memory of a song that had meaning to her or giving her some eye opening revelation about how all the different and often painful experience in her life actually paint a picture of His goodness and faithfulness in the way they connect in Him.
I am quite in awe of her journey with God and how she persevered throughout all these years in seeking to break new ground into her relationship with God and how this has changed her from feeling hopeless despair to enjoying the adventurous “road trip” of life with an open and curious mind in the knowledge that God really desires to be intimately involved in every area of our lives and to guide us through its ups and downs from glory to glory. Listening to and subsequently  also reading this book had quite a profound impact on me as to a reevaluation of my own relationship with God. It brought up some deep longings and a mix of feelings I am still processing. I definitely desire having such a deep relationship with God and I am so grateful to Lisa for walking this path with such courage and tenderness and mapping this out in her book.


 

Authentic and Transparent

This is a book that inspires by using the courageous voice of the author. The author shares her experience of healing and transformation through her interactions with God. These are expressed with honesty. They are relatable and inspire me to open up myself in a similar way to God, believing that I can.

Refreshing authentic dialogue

Listening to this book, it feels like the author invites us into her home to listen in on an intimate conversation between her and Jesus. Her authentic, genuine questions and dialogue are inspiring me to also bring all of me when I talk to God. Perhaps what was most refreshing and encouraging was to find that God’s response was always kind and loving and demonstrated how well he knew the author.

Do you long for intimacy with Immanuel?

What courageous vulnerability! Holy ground! How appreciative I am of Lisa modeling for us how we can develop the same intimacy with our Immanuel, the God who is always glad to be with us! What a treat to hear the author's own voice! To hear her heart for God and others and her emotions expressed so beautifully - ranging from despair and sadness to hope and joy. My soul and spirit were stirred to grow the same authenticity with my Savior, Lord, and Friend! To see myself and others from His perspective. Thank you, Lisa, for giving us a road map showing how each of us can engage in real talk with God!

A book of hope and inspiration

The author talks and listens to God and recalls how God lovingly gives her strength and directs her through life’s struggles. It was fun to hear her laughing with God and the joy He brought her in the midst of tough situations. This book has taught me a lot and has inspired me to grow more intimate with God.
