Sometimes the walls we build to save ourselves have to come tumbling down.

For the last 10 years, Huey has built his life around his sobriety. If that means he doesn't give a damn about finding love or companionship for himself, well, it's probably better that way. After all, the last thing he wants is to hurt anyone else. Until Felix Rainey walks into his bar, fresh-faced, unbearably sweet - and, for some reason Huey can't fathom, interested in him.

As the eldest of five kids, Felix Rainey spent his childhood cooking dinner, checking homework, and working after-school jobs. Now in his twenties, he's still scrambling to make ends meet and wondering what the hell he's doing with his life. When he meets Huey, he's intimidated...and enamored. Huey's strong and confident, he owns his own business-hell, he's friends with rock stars. What could he ever see in Felix?

As Huey and Felix get closer, the spark catches and soon they can't get enough of each other. But Huey's worked hard to avoid intimacy, and Felix threatens his carefully constructed defenses. Huey realizes he needs to change if he wants to truly put his past behind him-and build a future with Felix.

Contains mature themes.

I was looking for...not a musician view like my life. Yet I can appreciate the comfort enfing. laying out all the trauma. To be reminded that it was not your fault. You didn't chose to be here. Then again we all must make the best of a bad situation.

This wasn't the escape

Deep plot for anyone whose life is touched by addiction, and learning to love again.

Highly recommend

I found *Raze* difficult to get into at first, primarily because of Dane’s narration. It was a struggle to continue, but I persisted because I love Roan Parrish’s storytelling and character development. While the previous books in the trilogy completely immersed me, this time I found myself distracted by the narrator’s portrayal of Dane.

That said, I ended up loving the book. The ending brought me genuine joy, and I continue to adore the author’s ability to craft such rich, emotional stories. However, the choice of narrator for Dane’s character was, frankly, brutal for me. I wish they had stuck with the narrator from the first two books, as their performance felt more aligned with the depth and passion of the characters.

Dane’s narration felt flat and lacked the emotional intensity I expected. I wanted to hear more life, more awareness of his pain and passion, but instead, it felt like a flatline throughout. I understand the intent behind the choice, but it made the experience harder to connect with.

Despite this, the story itself is amazing. The detail, the intimacy, and the way Parrish weaves personal connection into the characters’ lives is fascinating. As a storyteller myself, I deeply appreciate the author’s ability to convey such raw, human experiences through their writing.

Overall, *Raze* is another incredible addition to Roan Parrish’s work, even if the narration didn’t resonate with me. I’m still looking forward to listening to more books by this author—her stories are always worth it.

Narrator cringe but excellent story

I’m just leaving a comment because I have no idea why folks are saying that one of the narrators was not good.

If you actually read the story, Dane/Huey is a great character and I love his healing story arc. The narration was not a problem. Other narrators are so distracting that you lose where you are in the story.

In any case, give it a go.

Narration and story was perfect

The story is pretty good. It's very relationship based with lots of feels. Not much else going on. What almost ruined the story for me though was Tor Thom's narration. His constant intake of breath was irritating and his performance was robotic. Kirt Graves on the other hand was more than excellent. He should have done this audio SOLO!!! He gave each character a very distinctive voice. A voice that matched their personalities.
The audio needs to be redone. I'm seriously considering returning this one, because I don't see myself listening to it again.

KIRT GRAVES SHOULD HAVE PERFORMED SOLO!!
