Riveting story!

It was very intriguing and I loved it! I got the audio version because I drive for a living and I highly recommend it! I am starting the second book today!

Definitely Rae, Strong and stubborn but don't like to tihnk.

Sarah Ann Masse’s other performance was a bit slow when she read Julian and other not leading characters. That was the reason for a 4 and not 5 star rating

Lovely

I had no idea what this was all about, I went in blind and was very surprised.

First book in this new series, it started of a bit slow but was worth sticking it out! I can’t wait to listen to the next book. The first book didn’t end in a cliffhanger, so you could stop here but I am sure you would want to carry on.

The narration was very good.

This book surprised me. I didn't realize I was going to love it. This is a very good book and the narrator was my all time favorite. I hope this series has more. Can't wait to read book 2.

Enjoyable

Narration - Sarah Ann Masse - OK
She's a really good narrator, but this book has a lot of varied accents and I'm gonna say that's not her strong point. Molly (Rae's roommate) had a touch too much Valley Girl mixed in with what was supposed to be a Welsh accent. But as a narrator, she's good. Has a very pleasant voice and good pacing.

The story is a paranormal tale that's a little bit Harry Potter-ish. A young girl who's parents are both killed when she's a child, she's cared for by an Uncle, has no idea she has these powers until she's sent away to this school where she meets all these other kids who all have varied powers and are learning how to use them.

I rather enjoyed it (except when Molly was speaking) and would definitely be interested in continuing the series.

Great start to the series!

This is a fantastic story of Harry Potter meets X-Men, but with a female heroine. Are is just like a typical teen girl, even when she discovers that's she's not like the others. she has her insecurities, hopes, crushes, and dreams just like everyone else, but is haunted by the sins of her father at every turn. I really enjoyed the realness and relatability of the characters and am looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here!

Perfect book to read with pre-teen

Do you remember how awkward it was to enter Highschool? Now imaigen walking into a supernatual school not knowing you will soon have some of your own. This is what Rae walks into, and immediately getting a friend like Charlotte LaBouff. Wow. Talk about a twist of many favorites like Harry Potter, X-men, Hero's, and my childs favorite Sky High.
