Piss on every leg. Bite every hand.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series, and was worried that the second book would not be as good. Fortunately, the second book holds its own well. It was a very enjoyable read. This book doesn't have the caper element of the first, but deals more with the fall out and ramifications of the first story. Belisarius is back, with a few of the characters from the first book. His goal now, protect the rest of the Homo Quantis now that everyone sees what they are capable of. Some of my favorite supporting characters are also back, Saint Matthew the AI, and Stills, the Mongrel pilot. Excellent, entertaining, and enjoyable read!

A worthy sequel to Quantum Magician!

Builds all important characters and weaves an incredible story in an epic time-travel tale. Can't wait for the next one.

Science Poetry

Derek Kunsken has become one of my favorite authors. While it took a while to appreciate the first book, by the time I found out about a second in the series I knew I had to have it.
This is deep science, and immersive science fiction, written in a beautiful, poetic style and rendered in perfect cadence by T.Ryder Smith. The end result can only be described as Science Poetry. The characters, story, and environment are all exotic yet believable.
I find myself really *listening* to this book - something I haven't really done in a long while. I also find it difficult to find something to listen to after this.

great story, fun continuation of the first

I love the world building setup by the first and followed through with this one.
My only complaint is in the editing of the reading, you can hear some page turning and gulping from the narrator which was sorta distracting, but his voices are still top notch.

Fastastic follow-up to the first book! Highly recommend and can't wait for the story to continue.

great SF

My cynical self expected the second book in this series to be a rinse-and-repeat plot with few (or no) new science fiction elements. Happily, my cynical self was wrong in all respects. This is another great novel, filled with thought-provoking ideas and clever plot elements.

In one respect I felt it improved on the first: the harsh Mongrel character. Yes, his language is bad -- perhaps even worse than in the first novel -- but the humor is more tuned and much better. I truly laughed out loud at several points in this book.

In summary, the excellence continues in book two.

It's interesting

The science in this story is quite exciting and refreshing. I want to know more, and I think I'd continue to book three right now.

Wow. What a world Kunsken creates and the sci-fi concepts are well constructed

Audible reviews are come in two forms: 1. I wish I could forget it and reread it again it’s so good 2. I was so bored, it never took off, the narrator stinks, the characters are undeveloped…

This is usually what you alternate back and forth between for the same book until you realize you going to trust one of the reviews and go for it.

TRUST ME. This book is about future versions of our species and space faring nations and alliances and really cool discussions of worm holes and quantum mechanics.

USE A CREDIT AND ENJOY.

Fantastic story, but narration needs polish.

This story was such a great follow up to the Quantum Magician in every way. Throughly entertaining from start to finish. My only gripe is that the editing on the narration should have been better. Don’t get me wrong, I love the narrators voice acting. It is totally on point. What I don’t like are the 1/2 second or even longer gaps in narration that arise quite frequently in the play back. Overall I still give it 5 stars because I was so throughly captivated by this story.

Interesting sequel

I wouldn’t say I loved it as much as the first novel. But it was a solid sequel with good continuity, interesting plot and satisfying stand alone features.
