Resumen del Editor

Re-released in a second edition with new content.

The town of Bliss, Colorado, offered Hope McLean a second chance at life, a gift she cherishes every day. Her past was dominated by dark secrets and regret, most of which centered on a man named Christian Grady. All of that was behind her now, years of horror distilled down into the occasional nightmare or a random feeling of being watched. Surrounded by new friends, she tried hard to leave the past where it belonged - in the rearview mirror.

Raised together, James Glen and Noah Bennett were the best of friends. They dreamed of growing up in Bliss, finding love, and settling down to share their lives on the Circle G ranch. James would manage the day-to-day operations of the ranch while Noah served the town as the resident veterinarian. Everything was perfectly planned out, until a woman came between them and their future shattered. Noah left Bliss for New York City and James was left to struggle to keep the Circle G alive on his own.

Noah returns to Bliss on a mission to rebuild his life. When he sees Hope, he knows his return home was meant to be. Hope’s kindness shines like a beacon calling him to her. Unfortunately, he isn’t the only man interested in Hope. James is also interested in the beautiful girl with a mysterious past. He can’t be forced to choose between the woman of his dreams and his best friend again.

As romance begins to bloom, a dark specter from Hope’s past returns to claim her. To save Hope, and themselves, James and Noah will have to rebuild the relationship they lost and fight for their future with Hope together.

Wonderful storyline

I really enjoyed the story of these characters and not just the main 3. This town claims & protects its own in al their idiosyncrasies. Really good mystery and a tale of love & redemption. Very good narration by both. Wished Audible would get the remaining books in the series.

wonderful story

I loved this story. so many points of ups and downs. there was a little bit of angst but mostly was about healing, forgiving and figuring out how strong the heroine really is. The narration by Kitty Bang and Lee Samuel's was really great.

It’s was touch and go there for a minute

For a minute, I didn’t think I’d make it through the story. The prodigal son is a story as old as time and this version includes Noah and James. After Noah left Bliss for a woman 5 years ago, James has been existing, not living just existing weighted down by anger, guilt, and sadness, but once Noah returns, it’s not the happy reunion he thought it would be. Noah has returned, broke, divorced, and aching to reconnect with his brother. When he meets Hope, he doesn’t know that James is interested in her too. Will another woman tear the brothers apart again? Can Hope overcome her past to start again? Will she want to with two brothers who haven’t made peace with their past?

The story was slow at the beginning…Hope was a pain at times and so was Noah. Thank God for Bliss and the crazy inhabitants. They gave us a nice distraction from the clumsy relationship building between Noah, James, and Hope. Aside from the boring dialogue, the sex scenes were way too long. At some point, you didn’t really care if they had set or not, you just wanted to move on. It got better as the story unfolded, but there were so many moments where more info would have been appreciated.

Wanted More Bliss Interactions

This was not one of my favorite Bliss books. It went on forever, unnecessarily so, imho.

I understood James felt that the decision Noah made was a betrayal, but he hung on to that anger for practically 75% of the book. Noah had his own guilt, but he wasn't so wrapped up in it he couldn't function. He was able to try and be more open, to reach out to James. I also thought Hope hung on to her secret entirely too long, especially considering all the people who knew her secret.

It was nice to get those few moments with Trev, Beau, and Beth. It didn't seem to me like this book incorporated as many of the other residents of Bliss as previous books. It mentioned a few, but didn't involve them in the same way. The residents are what make Bliss, well Bliss. This book didn't have as much humor and quirkiness. It was way too wound up in the trios angsty issues.

There seemed to be missed moments, like when Henry came out to the ranch. Or when Greg higher the ranch hands. Or when Chris showed up. People were on alert, but not as involved as usual. That is when I was expecting more "Bliss" intervention.

This was a 12.5 hour listen. The narration was well done. If I had the book, I know I would have skimmed through much of it. It was a decent listen, but would not make my red listen list.

Decent read, but a lot of drama between the heros.

Overall, I absolutely love Lexi Blake's writing style and sarcastic wit. This story was absolutely on par with the rest of the series with plot, action, and intrigue... However, I didn't love James with his manwh0r!ng ways... Yes, I'm sure that's lovely for our female main character to see how he actively messed around with any and ALL females in there general area... Except her. In fact, the single time SHE worked up the courage to ask him out? He turned her down and then continued sleeping his way through the female population? I'm sorry, that's not attractive behavior in a hero.

If he hadn't felt good enough for her, then it would have made a lot more sense for him to work and focus on making his life/finances better... Let's not imagine how much money he spent on taking women out for drinks, dinner, s-x related costs...

It makes him completely unattractive because he has already devalued what he thought the heroine was worth. He was with every other woman around while making her watch... And not even with discretion. It proved to me that he never had much interest in the heroine prior to her possibly being taken by another man. It's insulting to the heroine... She's only good enough now because he could lose her/or maybe he's already had every other option around/and he's jealous of her finally being with someone else. He never cared enough about her feelings, and how she felt seeing him with a million different women? Nah. No thanks. That's one "hero" I'd have to pass on. However, Noah was perfection. He had made mistakes in his past but with our heroine? His intent/interest never waivered. James though? He was the worse kind of "hero" around... I can't be attracted to a hero I don't respect by the end of the story.
