Great Narration

I had come to tire of some of Shayla blacks books that she had put out recently so this was a very nice change of pace. I enjoyed this book very much it has her usual sultry aspect to it with a mystery twist, it was a great listen.

EROTIC. INTELLIGENT. HOT. MYSTERY. THRILLER....

I’ve made it as clear as Baccarat, that I love all things Erotic , and I love to read. This offering was far more cerebral than the norm. It was not a rollercoaster plot twist at the very end but throughout, from start to finish. I’m not one to review a book by telling everything about the book, teetering on a spoiler alert. Although, I will say this, because it’s very important to real women, real men, and serious readers…the female lead character, “Everly,” (how cool a name is that!?!) isn’t a weak whiny girlie-woman. She holds her own…I really love that. A woman can be submissive, without having had a lobotomy…the proof’s in this book. Wait…Everly, isn’t all that submissive…except, where it counts. There are enough fine Alpha males in here, to remake all of the Greek Gods.
The authors, and the narrator are superb. There are so many books that I cannot read, audibly, because of a narrator more suited to narrating the ranch and farm report, than romance/erotica. That’s where my burgeoning kindle comes in handy, only thing is I can’t read it as I drive, get a mani-pedi, shop…you get the picture. I’ve been read to since childhood, so setting the timer on the audible app, and falling asleep to a hot read, is a natural. If I really like a book I’ll read it more than once, anyway. At the very least, I’ll back up in the chapter to wear it’s familiar and go from there, the next time I queue it up. This book is exactly, what it claims to be, so if you've mistaken it for a hymnal or a prayer book, fair chance, this aint it. The sex is great, of course, but this book isn’t solely dependent on it. So when they do tear into each other, I was like, "Hey, get up from there and solve this s__t!" HA! No I didn't.
Not only did I love this erotic thriller...I would trust anything offered by this collaboration.

great balance of suspense and romance

Kaleo Griffith narrated the book very well. The book was a very good balance of suspense story and romance. It didn't stall anywhere, moved along at a great pace, and kept me looking forward to the next time I could listen. Looking forward to starting the next book.

I love Gabe, no I don't, but I do, but I can't, I

The story is about extremely strong wealthy men... and accordingly a strong intelligent woman. This was a great change. Love the fact that Everly had brains!! Having said that, she would make dumb decisions at times. She was a bit too wishy washy for me. Back and forth... wouldn't let Gabe speak and would come to the wrong conclusions. I hate it when there are misunderstandings... that could have been easily prevented. At times, I wanted to stop the book so I could grab Everly's shoulders and shake her really hard!! Does she love him? Does she not? But she can't? But she wants to? OMG!!! My head is spinning.

I miss Maddox. He dies in the very beginning. No spoiler alerts there. However, he seemed like a great character who we will never know about. RIP Maddox.

I do love the way Gabe and Everly's chemistry is developed into love. The scenes were very hot! Over-the-top. Loved them. And Kaleo made them very erotic. Perfect narration!

The story line is good and it ended as predicted. I'm not sure if I'm going to grab the next book in the series. I'm assuming it will be the same as this one with different names.

great story. narration good except female voices a

I really like the new series and think there us a lot of potential. The narration was good but he just doesn't do a good female voice. Sounds just the same as in Dark Fire by Christine Feehan and does disappoint a bit when listening but overall a good listen. mature content. nice steamy sex scenes and romance and mystery was good. look forward to next book. would suggest the narrator just work on a good female voice, even if only one thru out.

Good read

I really enjoyed the storyline, etc. the only thing i didn’t care for was the narrator. Nothing personal against him, i just didn’t care for the voice (s) With a different this would have been awesome

I loved this book. It has just enough good hot sex, mystery, humor and HOT MEN to keep me listing from the word go. Bottom line if you have enjoyed many of the books I loved you will love this one. I think I'm going to listen again. I can't wait for book two. And though there is a bit of a cliffhanger it won't make you scream MOTHER$$&&(( ✌🏾️✌🏾✌🏾

My Review:
You know those big giant mystery romances that include cops but they play absolutely no role in solving it?
Their position comes across more as a footnote than anything else. Cops are involved but hey, we're billionaires lets solve this on our own anyway. Also not convinced of the Billionaire thing.
However I got more laughs out of Scandal Never Sleeps than I expected though because Gabe reminded me of a male dog who shoves his nose into someones crotch that can't be moved. He bit, he snarled, he threw tantrums, and sex was the only thing on his mind. Then there is poor Everly... the girl who can't say no.
Gabe starts sniffing and she can't wait to open wide - *Spoiler* Even when he acts up, even when he makes accusations, even though he thinks she slept with his best friend. Dammit they just couldn't resist, and those poor pathetic cops that kind of just disappeared behind all the paparazzi fell by the way side while they banded together with the rest of Gabe's friends to solve the mystery behind Mad's death.
Turns out Everly is more involved than they and even she first assumed and everything you thought you could avoid and knew from the beginning is turned on its head. Its that saying that your enemies are closer than you think defined and given a whole back story.
Just when you think you have it all solved there's a super cliff hanger ending letting you know the secrets don't just end with Everly or Mad.
Scandal Never Sleeps was funny, it was exciting, a little bit silly, a little bit childish, but toss in some passion and plenty of secrets and you have a fairly entertaining listen ahead of you.

Great suspense

I loved the whole story, my only complaint is, I wish their was also a female narrator. I don't like the sound of the male impersonating a female voice. The male voices were great!

this book had a good mixture of romance and suspense. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
