Resumen del Editor

THE SIGNAL WAS RECEIVED

Jon Hudson has become more than just the director of the Department of Homeland Security's Fusion Center - Paranormal. He is now a husband and a father, surrounded by a team who have become a family. So when a series of strange new threats rise from the depths and fall from the sky, the stakes are higher than ever.

THE HARBINGERS ARRIVE

While Maigo, the young woman who was once a part of the kaiju known as Nemesis, goddess of vengeance, and Lilly, a chimera cat-woman, sneak off to investigate Big Diomede, an island with an ancient secret inside Russian territory, two monsters fall from the sky. One heads for Tokyo, the other for the already battered Boston. Tsunamis rise from the depths, leveling cities. The two new kaiju - Giger and Lovecraft - follow close behind, bringing death and destruction with them. And Hudson realizes the horrible truth: the Aeros, an alien race plotting mankind's destruction, have sent these kaiju in advance.

THE WAR BEGINS

Drawn by the chaos, and by her connection to people she and her new "voice", Katsu Endo, are fond of, Nemesis rises to the defense of humanity. But the Queen of the Monsters is not alone. Maigo and Lilly unleash an ancient protector known as Hyperion, and the first battle for the fate of the human race, in all dimensions, begins.

Even Kaiju know the need for a helperbot

The finale novel before the climax of Nemesis sage comes to close. An with where given just some what himanity is in for when Alien fleet arrives to destory this dimision of Earth and a special guest appearance of the most infamous Nazi Hunter on any Earth.

Great Series

After the 2016 USA Elections, I needed to retreat from reality for a bit. What better way to do that than read Jeremy Robinson's Kaiju thrillers from beginning to end. I began with Island 731, and worked my way directly through Project Hyperion, in one giant binge, lasting about a week. I couldn't get enough. Robinson shows humanity through every monster, every decision and every action. The characterizations were excellent, and the people grew through every book. There was humor everywhere (if you're talking about giant, city destroying monsters, how could you not have humor?), and Robinson pokes fun at himself for writing these all the way through. But each book got more and more riveting. From the beginning images of Hudson running drunk and naked through the woods, and congratulating himself for fending off a huge monster of a bear in Project Nemesis, to the final scene of leaving with Cowboy to fend off more giant world destroying monsters, these are fun all of the way. I highly recommend.

The series fulfills its destiny of absurdity.

Once you get used to Robinson's penchant for childish humor and relentless pop culture references, the actually kinda cool story he's trying to tell shines brighter in this entry than in other installments where the "aliens from other dimensions" sprawling connected-series narrative is more of a sidebar. As such he fulfills the destiny of any kaiju series that goes on too long: you must continually up the stakes and it becomes utterly ridiculous. Now that Nemesis is firmly in her humorous, friend to mankind, aided by a giant robot from Atlantis Showa Era, is it any good?
Yeah. The characters are still occasionally kitsch and the same can be said for dialogue that was fine before we quoted Star Trek for the umpteenth time. But in the kaiju department, Nemesis is an utterly badass Godzilla proxy with unique villains and locales. A solid, if WAF, read.

It's good, but not the best in the series.

If you could sum up Project Hyperion in three words, what would they be?

Not enough fights.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was okay, hopefully in the next book there will be more or at least longer monster battles.

Have you listened to any of Jeffrey Kafer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He always makes me think of Charlie Sheen. He is a good reader.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not enough giant monster battles.

Any additional comments?

I feel like the previous books had more giant monster battles, or at least the battles took longer in this book. Sure the humans are getting better weapons, but I came for giant monsters fighting, and it felt like much much more of this book involved the human characters fighting. It's a good book, but I don't think it's the best one in the series.

Delightfully Sublime Ear Candy

This book and the entire Nemesis saga are wonderful reminders of the pulps and drive-in creature features I enjoyed in my youth... These stories are the best and modern reincarnation of both... Kinda reminds me of a mix of X files and those creature flicks... Not really hard SF or gorey monster tale, but meets in the middle w/ supremely quirky humor and pop culture illusions... We have genetic engineering of both man and the aliens man is fighting... Godzilla reminiscent monsters like an exodus from Monster Island... Especially Hyperion who very much resembles the giant robot from one of those Godzilla movies... There also a bit of that Saturday morning cartoon appeal... Some obvious, and sneakily subtle references to StarTrek... Pricking of fingers like in The Thing Reboot...
Great read w/ great narration and if you're a closet guilty pleasure kinad person you'll gobble this up... There's quite a bit of crossover w/ the other Robinson storylines, but was surprised the Chess Team didn't make an appearance... Worth the credit and a trip back into our miss spent youth;)

Kaiju and Giant Robots now

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Sure its a fun series, if you enjoy Kaiju and Giant Robots now

What other book might you compare Project Hyperion to and why?

Only the other books in the series. I usually wouldnt read about Kaiju having grown up on the King of the Monsters on TV and in the theaters.

What does Jeffrey Kafer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hes a very good reader, I dont know I still read alot, it just helps me keep up with the books I want to read in the car or when I exercise.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No its not that kind of book

Any additional comments?

Good story and fun, it kind of gets a bit muddled in the final battle keeping track of who is who and where, because it kinda turns into Giant Monsters Attack, meaning huge monsters everywhere fighting it out. But please keep writing more!!! I enjoyed it alot!!!

check it out for sure

It's awesome! well worth the read or in this case the listen! I have become a fan boy of jeremy robinson and his books! To be honest it been hard to find a series that can hold my attention and cause me to remember each character and its history. Jeremy has done it and he blends characters from his other series together in new books seamlessly!
