Excited for Book 2

I first read a physical copy of Peace and Turmoil about a year ago. Loved the book then. The narrator did a great job and the audio book was the perfect re-read in anticipation for book 2.

This is a political high fantasy novel - unique magic system, friendship and betrayal, dragons, each player making moves in their and the country’s interests.

an amazing production of an already amazing book ! an absolute must for anyone interested in political fantasy , such a breathe of fresh air!

Adulty epic political fantasy at its finest

4.5 ⭐️ rounded up. This was second time reading this book but this time I read along with the audiobook and the narration was fantastic and really enhanced my reading experience. The narrator really helped breathe additional life into this phenomenal world. If you are at all a fan of political fantasy like a song of ice and fire then you should give this series a go. I will say there is a steep learning curve in the beginning as you get chucked into the deep end of this complex and interconnected world, but if you put in a little effort the payoff is so worth it.

its okay but I couldn't get into it

I wanted to love this book, but in the end, I just didn't. Let me start with, this book is not bad, at all. I purchased this book based on a BookTube recommendation. I enjoy a good nuanced political fantasy and there are moments I really enjoy, when things are spreading and interconnecting...then it slows down. I think it's the pacing that kills it for me. Some of the characters are a bit "off" (for me) as well. That also drags me out of the story. I would say, Listen to the sample, if you LOVE it, then get this one. If not, it might be more of a coin flip. I hope that if you take a chance on this, you will love it. I am just sorry that I didn't.
