Resumen del Editor

A new update arrives to the ultra-popular online game, Realm of Arkon. With Patch 17, the level of immersion experienced by players in their gaming capsules has made virtual reality indistinguishable from the real world. But every gamer's dream becomes a nightmare for Roman Kozhevnikov after he gets confined to Arkon against his will. And not just to Arkon, but to its deadliest zone - Demon Grounds. Playing - or rather living - as his character Krian, it's not just about survival for Roman. He longs to exact revenge for his banishment to the virtual world where the sensation of pain has reached 100 percent...

Not sure if its the story or me.

Like I said I'd not sure if it's the story or me, I typically like stories when the characters struggle with mundane tasks of early character development. Not to spoil the story, it certainly does this in the beginning, but then it takes a meteoric jump. I'll listen to the next in the series.

Intelligently written LitRPG

This is a great example of the newly-popular RPG book. These are a fun read for anyone interested in Fiction/Fantasy but they are especially appreciated by those who have played some form of role-playing game (e.g. Dungeons and Dragons or other die-20 game). In fact if you haven't played such a game before some of the nitpicky details about game dynamics and rules can be tiresome and even baffling. This is my only criticism of this book that I can think of. It is so well written with none of the 'amazing' plot twists other books use to force the story where the author wants the book to go (e.g. suddenly magic rules don't apply for this character or a trained assasin is taken out from behind by an amateur who was not detected -- those type of situations that go way beyond the scope of 'suspension of disbelief '). The plot unfolds at a comfortable pace and is easy to follow; the end is satisfying while leaving you with plenty of incentive to move on to the next book in the series. The narration was a joy to listen to; in my mind audiobooks are only as good as their narrations and this one is excellent. Characters are easy to keep track of because ZV gives everyone a unique voice, I love that - it means I can relax when I listen and don't have to work so hard to keep track of who is whom. This was a wonderful book for this old DnD veteran but I think any Fiction/Fantasy fan will enjoy it as well. This book is Whyspersync ready and as I'm writing this review the Kindle book is being given for free! Check it out, you might just get the deal of your life! Even if you come upon this review too late don't worry - it's definitely worth a credit; give it a try, I hope you'll agree with me. Happy listening!

Great story

This is a good story so far one thing I find funny is the mispronouncing of luffy zack you should go watch an episode of one piece in your spare time lol other than that great job narrating.

Masterfully Written and Performed!

This book really had me pulled into the world and feeling along with its characters. I cannot recommend this book more to anyone who likes the LIT-RPG genre

Patch 17

This book was certainly different from what I usually read. A good imagination is required to read this book. If you have that, you will enjoy this book!

Way More than A litrpg

This story is an epic I would honestly put it up on the pedestals of the old classics because I believe that is what this will become. The story is intriguing and makes you actually interested in seeing where it goes the litrpg aspect of it just adds to the the progression of the story and gives the main character a framework to move forward in his character development... It asks questions that I think everyone would ask like are you still alive is there really a difference between npc and players if both are permanent residents of the world and if you are just 1s and 0s how will the game effect ur consciousness now that it is actually apart of the programming....

Ps took a star off because there is a few offhand homiphobic comments sprinkled through out this entire series that
was pretty uncomfortable to read but unfortunately It's not unexpected since the author is Russian and as of this review its still illegal to be gay there so not to many people like them... Still wish it would have been left out of the book tho. If you can get past that which isn't to hard since it is very rarely brought up I would encourage you to because it really is a great series....

MC isn’t an idiot

There are sooo many novels of this type out there, and about 85% of them end up sucking balls. This has promise. It isn’t too annoying with stat sheets, you won’t find yourself irritated at constant bad decisions for the sake of explaining video game mechanics. Another bonus is that the MC doesn’t have the same exact build as the vast majority of similar series’.
What kind of irritated me at the last second was the ‘Friend of MC receives a unique instance/quest/skill just so that later down the line the side characters aren’t useless. Big eye roll, and a waste of a chunk of time, but I guess it might be worth it. Definitely worth the credit tho!

fun book, although...

The narrator sounds good, and the book is fun, but holy crap dude, learn to pronounce words properly, one word that really got to me was "taciturn" he kept pronouncing it "takiturn" instead of "tasiturn" there were others, but that stuck out. And my personal opinion is a 20% level drop for dying is rather obscene, typically it's only a percentage current level progress or all of progress on current level at worst, I can just imagine the rage of customers if that were the way it actually was in games. Ridiculous that the author put that in there. Sure you can often times best the game several times then play nightmare mode and have that or worse things happen for dying, but not right off the bat first run through from the beginning. But, I'll get the other books eventually, I don't regret getting this one, just some pet peeves about this and that.
