A little revenge is always fun

The story was cute. The miscommunication was utterly annoying but I felt like the story towards the end was so rushed. Chloe’s character was annoying the hot and cold constantly got old fast. I love Gus. He was such a sweet lumberjack. Im interested in the rest of the series still but im desperate to see some POV with the patriarch of the Hebert family. Hopefully as the series continues we see some. As always C.J and Aaron did a phenomenal job narrating this story

A beautiful second chance

Pain in the Axe, book two for this Maine lumberjack family, was WONDERFUL! At the end of book one we saw the smallest glimpse of Gus and Chloe, and I couldn’t wait for their story. Needless to say, it was phenomenal! These two ex’s have found their way back to each other in… less than favorable circumstances. At least, that’s how Chloe wants it to be when she buys the her ex-husband’s family company. Gus on the other hand sees this as his chance to win his ex-wife back all these years later.

This book had me laughing out loud, seeing how our spitfire Chloe keeps Gus on his toes, and how much Gus loves her sass. Oh, and did I mention that Gus knocks Chloe up? YEAH! Surprise baby!!!

This book had me so enamored, and I finished it in less than 24 hours. Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom did such a wonderful job narrating this story. I will absolutely listen again! 🩷

Was that a cliffhanger?

Kind of weird that the mystery part wasn’t resolved. Chloe was annoying and Gus was sooo patient. I’m glad she came around. I had to FF a few places.

CJ Bloom Deserves An Oscar

So far, the story line is okay but Khloe’s character is unreasonable. She’s not over the decisions of Gus’ 2 decades old decision. I’ll keep listening. On chptr 32 and Khloe is so darn unappreciative

Gus & Chloe

This series gives me so much joy! Each one gives me a trope that I am obsessed with, and Pain in the Axe would be a second chance, divorced couple… with an accidental pregnancy! Daphne did such a great job telling this story. I loved that we had a reason for them to split that they worked through and realized things weren’t quite as they seemed. I really believed in the characters' story and was cheering for them to find their way back to each other. You could tell they both had regrets but they were young, now they are older and more mature and ready to start a family. Gus was all in when he found out Chloe was pregnant and I liked that he was ready to figure this out.

This audio was a duet narration with Aaron Sheldlock and CJ Bloom. From the moment I hit play, I was hooked. Not just by the story, but by the way the narrators brought these characters to life. Every conversation felt real, every emotion just hit, and the chemistry was off the charts.

Chloe was so annoying. She behaved like a child instead of a 40 year old. I could not take anymore

Sweet, spicy and duet narration

This entire series is sweet and spicy. Duet narration is on point. I'm not one to give spoilers. Give it a try. it's worth it.

Chloe & Gus

I loved Gus and very happy he got his woman! However, I did NOT like Chloe at all for majority of the book. She was extremely immature, constantly had a negative attitude & resisted anything pertaining to Gus. It was honestly very hard to not dnf this audiobook. I get that her trust was broken 20 years but dang girl, get over it & move on with your life. Gus & his family were the reason I didn't dnf this one. I was really disappointed since accidental pregnancy & enemies to lovers are two of my favorite tropes.

CJ Bloom & Aaron Shedlock are remarkable bringing the characters to life. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you enthralled from beginning to end.

I'm in my lumberjack ERA!

Loving the lumberjack era! Chloe and Gus were so fun. I loved the banter and how they went from enemies to lovers in the end. They had a lot to work through their past.

Loved the appearance of Clyde!

🎤Duet narration by Aaron Shedlock & CJ Bloom was top notch! Both did an amazing job bringing this book to life! It was very enjoyable! I cannot wait for the next book!
