Good Plot

3.5 Stars ⭐️ Overruled was fine. The physical part of the romance started in the prologue, which made didn’t help build their chemistry. The character growth was good, and the overall plot was good. I just needed more romantic moments.

Just OK.

I think I had too high of hopes for this. The story went on way too long and the pacing dragged so much in the middle. The male narrator saved this story for me. His voice is delicious.

Pushed the line

I thought the performance and major plot was good. I appreciated that there were no loose ends so I don’t need to read a follow up book though. I don’t mind steamy parts to books, this one just took it to a place that was too much at times. I’m sure it’s just right for some, just not me.

The storyline was good! The spice was too!

Probably one of my favorite reads of the year. Loved the storyline and characters. I love how much the MMC loved the FMC.

Bery hot chemistry!

I very much enjoyed this book. I liked that there was a little mystery brewing in the back ground and even though I’m not a lawyer it was so hot when they bantered in lawyer speak! Ezra was so sweet and mysterious and Dani was such a strong and whitty woman. You just couldn’t help but love them both. I’ll look for more books by this author!

Meh…

Unfortunately I was left very underwhelmed with this book. There was zero angst. The plot was thin. It was smut then courtroom drama then smut then more smut. Throw in a twist that you can see coming a mile away. The narrators did their best with the material given but they lacked any emotion. I usually enjoy these narrators but they just sounded robotic. I’m super disappointed because I enjoy this author so much but this book just fell flat. She is amazing at writing angsty novels but this one felt like it was written by someone else. Definitely not worth the credit.

I Never Ended Up Liking The MFC

Let me start by saying that both actors were great. Even though I didn't enjoy the way the MFC was written, it was still a flawless audio presentation. I just felt she was mean to the MMC past the point where it made sense and when she lashed out at him and couldn't really get past herself to apologize right away...that irked my spirit. In other news Connor Crais is flawless as always. ❤️

My thoughts:
📚I was so totally sucked into this book and loved everything about it. The rival attorneys, enemies with benefits setup between Dani and Ezra made for fantastic banter and wow did it deliver. Seriously, their chemistry was so witty, sharp, and relentless and absolutely delicious!

Ezra is such a green flag. Thoughtful, steady, and completely gone for her. Watching these two grow and blossom into something was so satisfying, with a touch of mystery And the spice? On. Freaking. Point.

🎧Holy freaking swear words and shouty capital letters….this audio!! Samantha and Connor absolutely deliverrrrrred their “A” game in this one. I loved Samantha’s distinct voices, impeccable timing, and polished delivery and just adored her performance. This one moved into one of my top Connor listens with no notes. Simply perfection on the delivery, well placed pauses, inflection and the growly goodness to boot. Very much recommend this audio!

Steamy Lawyers

Two lawyers who love to hate each other. The can't be nice so they chose to be naughty. This book is Steamy- with a capital S. There is a lot of miscommunication but it all works out in the HEA. This was my first Lana Ferguson book and I will be back for another.

Wonderful Audio, Frustrating FMC

As an audiobook this is a fantastic one, the performances are really strong and I think I enjoyed the story more because of this audio than i would have reading it. The FMC had some pretty strong anger issues, and while her fury worked well in court scenes it came off as over the top and a little insane in every day life. She was angry at everyone over everything, but none of it made sense and she held onto it for so long that it was frustrating. If she had more legitimate things to be angry about or if it was toned down a little I think it would have been better, but you do get to see a softer side of her which helps.
