Wow, this book is deep and powerful! Bob Wheatly takes you on an introspective journey that is life-changing. At times this book is fun and funny; other times, it's pensive and personally challenging (in a good way), but overall, it left me very encouraged! As a Christian with a growing relationship with Jesus, this book caused me to love Jesus all the more as I continue to grow in trusting God in all areas of my life. Bob is a great storyteller in the unique way he overlays the entire Biblical narrative with our own life story. He even manages to weave in stories from movies and books to illustrate how we all naturally gravitate toward stories that underscore our own. Bob openly shares his personal struggle in seeking his own heart's desire, only to discover that what he was truly seeking, in the end, was...well, I'll let you discover that for yourself. If you are someone who is open to going deeper with God and you're unsure of your value to God, I HIGHLY recommend and encourage you to read this book and allow Bob Wheatley to take you on a powerful journey that could change your life.

P.S. Bob Wheatley is the narrator for his own book, and I must say he was a perfect choice - GREAT performance! The entire time, I didn't once consider Bob was reading to me. Instead, it felt like Bob was speaking with me as a friend sharing his story and unique insights. Bob is very conversational and interactive, and the accompanying workbook is also very helpful. This audiobook was a wonderful experience!

This is a remarkable read for the author's freshman effort. Bob Wheatley paints a clear and concise picture of the human condition and our deepest desires - all while using fun and apt examples from popular culture. Great read!

The original love story

Bob does an incredible job telling the original love story all of us are actors in. Bob brilliantly interweaves some of our favorite movies, messages from our creator, and his own journey to provide one compelling narrative. The book provided spiritual food for my soul. Reading this book came at a perfect time for some personal inspiration. I could not stop listening and finished the book in 1 day (a personal record for me).

The Best Stories: Revealing God’s Love

I love the way Wheatley reveals God’s love story for us through the stories we tell in books, movies, and tales. I never had really thought about why we love the stories we do, but it makes sense now. Wheatley deftly connects the dots between common story elements and the reasons we love our heroes, why we cheer for the hero and his love interest to get their happy ending, and why we want to see the bad guy get his due reward. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and book references that show time and again how God’s story continues to be modeled in our own stories - even if we don’t know it.
