Very good

A little mad about the two part and reason for it but loved the book. Excited to read more of the series.

Not a grovel.

If you're like me who searched for this title because this book was high on that one reddit thread for being a good book that does the grovel sub-trope well, I'd say skip this title as this book is not the type of grovel I feel you're seeking. If you're looking for grovel where the MMC changes their bad ways/personality, grows and shows through their actions and words how sorry they are to the scorned/hurt FMC you're not going to get that here. This book has a soft MMC and an even softer FMC saying "sorry" to each other every 12 seconds due to their anxieties and just fumbling around in the awkwardness and newness of a shifter x human romance. Where ultimately, ignorance of this supernatural world is the catalyst for issues/ the "big betrayal" for this couple.

The "betrayal" feels more like a slight, the "forgiveness" is WAY too quick, and these Mary Sue, Cardboard leads with their stale chemistry just aren't worth rooting for. Everything here is just a bit all over the place, trying to make you feel ANYTHING but nothing sticks...except annoyance

Maybe just reread Cate C. Wells rejected mate series again because those are probably the best grovels us grovel girlies are gonna get.
