Emotional listen

These narraters did an excellent job of bringing these characters to life. This story was emotionally. Some parts made me teary eyed. This story of a couple who lost their way then found themselves again. Also found a new family of friends. You will love listening to this book. The narrators did an awesome job. I recommend everyone listen to this book you will not be disappointed.

Loved this book. The Christmas showdown was epic! Aiden knows he screwed up by kissing another woman, and starts to see how he and his family have treated Mia badly. He does the work to show he has grown

Very Good

I've read all of Maya Alden's work because I love the angst. BUT I always find it had to rate more than 3 stars because of the direction she takes her heroines in the third act. They always start off traumatized, always meek, and when the love interest comes along he is ALWAYS the worst possible man (irredeemable IMHO). Then the heroine proceeds to make concession, after concession, after concession. Rinse repeat. But not in this book. I was riveted to all the drama here, and impressed by the heroine (Mia) she didn't take any crap, and she was ruthless in her self care. Plus, when it came time to forgive the hero (Aidan actually earned it) she did that graciously too. Overall this was a great marriage in trouble story. The emotional explorations were on point. The side characters added depth. And best of all the hero became so sooo devoted. He lost his way and found it again perfectly.

Gut wrenching, emotional, made me cry!

I wanted to hate him so bad but he redeemed himself. I found Aiden's honesty heartbreaking but refreshing.

I was enthralled with this book right away. At first, in disgust, then intrigue, then love. So, so good!

Wonderful Marriage in Trouble Story

I loved the narration of the story with the male and female voices both present in each chapter when appropriate. It made the storytelling more natural and satisfying.

This story is perfect for an audiobook because it is packed full of dialogue, spoken, remembered or thought. I am a fussy audiobook listener and this meets all my requirements: lots of dialogue, great voices and a heartbreaking then heartwarming storyline.

I loved how Aiden finally started viewing his actions in retrospect and saw how he failed our heroine time after time. Mia goes scorched earth on her husband and his family which is great to read. You will hate his family and Diana the OW who has divorced and moved back to claim Aiden while working with him for the last 2 years. His "work wife" and family friend has the full support of his family in belittling and stepping all over Mia and you will feel her pain as they all attack her for not being part of their social class and unable to have a baby with her husband.

Don't worry this story has some of the best comeuppance I have ever read. I love the surprises Mia serves Aiden and his family while opening Christmas presents, it is a scene and book I will re-read often. Truth and vengeance is definitely best served cold. This might be my favorite Alden book of the year and we have had a lot of great stories to pick from.
