Narrator RC Bray is amazing! Makes every book I listen to of his so much better. The story line of this book is great, captured me immediately

Favorite series

Might have worked better if this part had been written sooner. The book started somewhat slow but gained momentum in second half. By the end I was into it like the rest of the series. Very good.

I enjoyed each and every book in this series I got this one because I missed the series and was always curious about what went down but I never expected that this would be my favorite book in the series.

A great addition to the series

This was a great addition to the series. This book filled the blank hole of what happened to Homer on his trek to find his kids. as always Michael Stephen Fuchs does a superb job of writing and RC bray brings the story to life. If you have read or listened to this series you must get this standalone as well. Can t wait for more.

Thought this was book 1

Very disappointed that it wasn’t pointed out that this was way down the order of books in the story. Kept waiting for explanation of the un dead.

Authentic

I leave very few 5 star reviews. This one is easy to leave. Action adventure is my favorite genre when it is authentic but such is very hard to find. Most such books are full of inaccuracies (especially relqted to firearms) and illogical sequences and impossible events. My level of enjoyment hinges on how far I have to push my "suspension of disbelief". This book had no such problems. It is fundamentally a Seal Team book rather than an undead book. Sure, undead are present.

Homer’s odyssey revealed!!

I’m so happy to have this portion cleared up and to hear it blend seamlessly with the other pov.
Was it a good story? If you’ve read/listened to ANY of the others then that is the silliest question! It was as great as ever and of course R C Bray continues to excel in bringing a great story to life...in fact I think he adds to them.
If you’ve never read these books then sure you could read this as a stand-alone but why would you? Go to the beginning and immerse yourself in what is by far the best military zombie apocalyptic series (my son is part of one of the mentioned groups...can’t say which, and due to opsec he couldn’t tell me specifics but did confirm everything about the way the operators spoke, reacted, and behaved was on point so kudos to Fuchs and his research...this book is being passed around among sf groups!)
