Need to listen again! Book is so rich with history and biblical truths. Loved hearing from both writers.

Very Good

This book opened my eyes to many areas where I need to improve my thoughts and actions regarding racism. What I thought I knew about the history of slavery in America is so wrong. I needed this book.

Very balanced view on the race issue

This is a very solid read. I didn’t want to put it down. I love the stories and the heart of forgiveness. As well, they do a great job of providing historical context to the race issue. There is much to chew on in this book!

Best book on Christianity and racism I’ve ever read

I wish every white Christian would read and/or listen to this book. It stepped all over my toes, yet in the most loving and gentle way. Scripture abounds throughout the book. More importantly the scripture is used in context-not to fit the “narrative.”

A Great Education on Racial Struggles in the USA

I learned so much and was challenged to think through my beliefs on racial equality, not only in day to day life, but also in my daily Christian life. The Church has neglected to deal with the struggle and needs to both repent and lament its duplicity. As a leader in the Church, I must lead and set an example of how we treat each other, especially those of different ethnic and racial backgrounds. I am glad I listened to the book and highly recommend it to all.

Surprised!

I heard your interview on the podcast “Dadville”. I found it very interesting. I couldn’t wait to purchase to listen and learn more about this subject. I certainly appreciate you both sharing for your personal stories and those of others. As a Jesus lover and a student of His word, I liked how you brought in scripture. But I must admit I found the over all book very one sided and not as diverse as I was thinking it would be. We do need more honest discussions from everyone. We know the Victory we have is in Christ Jesus alone and can’t continue to live with a victim mindset. Forgiveness has to take place! Forgetting won’t happen, but we can choose to not play the blame game and give all Glory to God for our continued
healing. We all have to choose daily to not be offended and do our own work with Jesus to get healed. I will continue to learn and listen, everyone has a story and their experiences that is still in process until our great Savior returns for His children. Thank you both Reggie and John!!
