Well, that world also exists here, except you have men and women willing to work outside the law on both sides to get a job done. Whereas the other books focus on the Detectives mentioned above' private and otherwise, the focus is more on the ones that hide who they are. They sometimes wear disguises to conceal their identities and avoid arrest or retaliation from the underworld.
Growing up, I loved the pulp heroes such as the Shadow, Miss Fury, Black Bat, and many others. This book is written in that tradition. You will find characters that you may have met in the noir series, and that is because it is one universe, just a different city and focus. So, please sit back, relax, and let the pulp world take you away from your reality and place you in mine.
