Resumen del Editor

Not everyone approves of the practice of negotiation. There are those who hate it because they think it is too confrontational, or they simply don't want to be bothered. This audiobook will demonstrate that negotiations in everyday transactions do not necessarily have to be confrontational, instead, they can be fun.

Becoming a master negotiator requires that you develop certain qualities, such as problem solving abilities, confidence, and the flexibility to change your tactic during the negotiation process. Practice always makes perfect, and the more time and resources you put into planning your negotiation, the higher the chances that you will succeed and get what you want.

Remember that you are not the only one at the negotiation table, so be aware of the wide range of interests and perspectives present. Try to accommodate the views and concerns of others by listening carefully to what they are saying. Do not try to win every argument, this can make you look aggressive and rude to your opponent. On the contrary, strive to make your argument reasonable and fair across the board. The guidelines in this audiobook will teach you new ways to deal with people, regardless of how difficult or insensitive they are. You will become a better negotiator during both simple, day-to-day negotiations and complex negotiation situations, which many people fear.

In a negotiation process, every person is significant and there is no ultimate decision maker. Do not dictate what needs to be done or the perspectives that should be catered to. Instead, win people over through your communication skills. Be open to positive criticism and do not take anything personally. Being calm and composed will put you in the position to win any negotiation.

Disappointed!

short, rush and uninspiring. I bought this audio with the expectation of hearing some great points. instead I heard a rehash of several other authors. The narration was average, bordering on mediocre

An Invaluable Audiobook

This is a terrific audiobook on learning good negotiating skills. Everyone negotiates in one way or another at some time in their lives. Here is where you can learn how to negotiate effectively. There are ways to negotiate properly for a win-win outcome which is the ultimate goal. Each party wants to walk away with a good positive outcome.

Everyone needs this book. Life is a negotiation. But this explains what negotiation is. It's a mutual agreement where each party has input which includes compromising to achieve the best outcome. Both parties want to walk away feeling good.

There are numerous things a person needs to know when negotiating and this book goes over everything. Negotiating doesn't mean being confrontational. You have to be fair, open-minded, flexible, and clarify your goals. You also have to know when to walk away. This book will teach you the three 'C's of negotiating. Communication is a huge part of negotiating and developing good listening skills as well as reading body language are two important parts of communication. Also developing a good, positive relationship with the person you're negotiating with is key. This is also where trust and honesty comes into play.

With the many aspects of negotiating, this book is invaluable in teaching you what you need to know before entering into any negotiation. I would HIGHLY recommend listening to this audiobook. This is information that can be used for a lifetime. Kudos to Jim Berry for writing this book.

Charles Orlik does a sensational job delivering the information in this audiobook with a clean, steady-paced cadence which makes it easy to understand and follow. I enjoyed his reading of this audiobook. he's upbeat and positive and that's a bonus. Great job!

Get a new narrator and maybe it will be okay

Would you try another book from Jim Berry and/or Charles Orlik?

Maybe from this author but I couldn't get past the poor narration.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Power Negotiating

How could the performance have been better?

I have listened to many books. The narration of this book was brutal. I felt like the narrator was reading. The pace and tone did not give me the feeling that he cared anything about the subject matter or me. It felt as though little care was given to connecting to the listener. The narrator merely red the text and nothing more. Very cold and disconnected. I listened to 5 minutes and moved on.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I will be returning it.

Any additional comments?

The subject matter may have been okay but I couldn't even concentrate on it because the narration was so poor.
