This book keeps you guessing. At first you guess what is going to happen. And you are right. However what evolves, you will never guess.

Thiis book is a must read

I feel that I should give praise where praise is due. If you enjoyed Water for Elephants then you should read my Name is Eva. It's a wonderful story and Eva, even at the age of 90, is someone to be admired for her performance. The narrator did an excellent job Well worth reading.

Good story no so good ending

I thought the narrator was great! I really liked c the story, but I didn't really like the ending. I felt that it kept building up to the truth being told but in the end no ever really found out.

I loved the book

At first I thought it was a little confusing but I did started following it. Than. I was inthralled with the story. I am always interested in the way that this book keeps me thinking and interested

Decent story

Interesting story, but dates jumped around almost a little too much to follow at times.

Good story

I liked the story and found the protagonist interesting so I read to the end. However, I thought the book was preachy in spots an sometimes dragged.

Repetitive! Over exaggerated accents.

Had potential to pull together all aspects with powerful ending. Then finale deflated entire build up overall!! Very disappointing.

Disappointing

I found this book to be incredibly tedious and overwrought. The sympathy for wartime and post-war Germans was over the top and sometimes offensive, in my opinion. I understood the sentiments, but simply thought they went too far. Most Germans may not have been completely in-the-know with the specifics of what was happening at the camps, but they most certainly knew Jews were being persecuted, dehumanized, and “deported,” never to be heard from again...all at the behest of a man they adored. The book also stretched believability in many areas, which isn’t something I enjoy in this genre. Just not a winner for me. I enjoyed the author’s other book - so I was surprised at my reaction.
