This is a memoir about Laura’s father and how she did the things on his bucket list when he passed away. She actually finished it. What a tribute to her dad this is. This book can help others as she turned her terrible loss of her dad into something positive. This book will inspire many people. Some say “it will challenge you to face all your fears.” All the events described in the book are true.

How many things are listed on the bucket list? Who found the bucket list? One will have to read the book to find out. As discussed in the book, it can take years to understand all that is lost when someone you love passes away. Moving forward afterwards takes a lot of strength and the way Laura does it is one for the books. This is truly inspiring for all.

How does one heal from these losses? Will a photograph do it? Will remembering a conversation one had with the person work you through the grief?

The bucket list was listed on three pieces of folded notebook paper. The list was in a small brown suede pouch with a drawstring. Her dad wrote the list when he was 29 years old. The list was titled “things I would like to do in my lifetime.”


One positive of the book starts in the Foreword of the book.
When will adore this quote shared in the Foreword. “Miracle shall follow miracle and wonders shall never cease.”

A negative was learning that Laura’s father passed away in 2003 after being struck with a car by a distracted 17 year old driver. Laura was only 25 years old at that time. At that time she was pursuing her dream of becoming a writer in New York.

Laura‘s dad encouraged her and really wanted her to become a writer. That was one dream she had to make happen.
Eight years later, she worked at a women’s magazine, her dad would have been very proud of her.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for the love this author had for her father. The love was shown by the author writing such a book. Can you imagine doing a bucket list left by a parent? This is one amazing human and quite an inspiration for all.

This book is recommended for all that want to be inspired. “Love can only enter your heart when you give it away.” There is much to quote from this amazing book that all are talking about.

Roll Coaster of Emotions

I loved every chapter particularly Chater 3. It mirrored my own experience in my teenage years. With every chapter the highs and lows of life were explained in a way that took me on the journey with the Author. I had ugly cries and tears of joy as I hung onto every sentence waiting for the next wave of emotions to flood my mind. So many mental nuggets found through the book. It was like a literary treasure hunt.

Spectacular!

Brave, adventurous, and raw with human emotions. Laura is a gifted storyteller with a hell of a story to share. It’s simply beautiful and you will be better for reading it.

Great book

Captivating. She learns more about her father and herself in this journey. So glad I listened.

True inspiration!

Laura is a true inspiration to others! I hope this is the first of many books from her. 

Disappointed

Issues caused by the cadence of narration and the overwhelming anxiety of the author made this was a difficult book to complete.

This book was very boring and mundane.
Was this an autobiography or a story about her father?

Dont Bother With This Book

Bought this after seeing the Author on various talk shows promoting the book. Was really enjoying the touching story. At some particular point of each chapter it brought me to tears. Relating to the author as my own Father has passed away. And then came the chapter of meeting and speaking to a US President. And of course had to get political and bash the then current President. Just another piece of material that just loves to bash and pile on to the current media narrative. Why cant this be left out of a touching book. Why get political in a book not about politics. Someone needs to remind the author that Republicans buy books too. The author also narrated the book. Was so mundane that it often times put me to sleep. I returned the book after the Presidents bashing so I don't know how it ends. Will also toss the physical book in my recycling bin and send it to the curb where this book belongs.

Couldn’t finish

So disappointing, the tone of the author’s voice was so flat I could not finish. Way too many details that didn’t pertain to the story. I really had high hopes but it did not meet expectations.
