Enjoyed Luke’s story from beginning to end

This book is part memoir and part travelogue. I loved following along with Luke as he visited 65+ countries and met some fascinating individuals wherever he went. Interesting story and good narration by the author.

Expected More

Seems to still be living in the shadow of his dad. Parts of the book seems like a 16 or 17 years old entitled boy writing. Obvious to me, he's really insecure regardless of all of the advantages he's been given. The stories of his sexual escapades were really unnecessary and quite self-indulgent. Then there's just too much religious BS through the book verging on delusional. Luke has a great voice and would probably make a great RC priest. Hoping for much more since I loved his dad's book, Big Russ and Me.

One’s journey when all had been given

The author’s father came from humble beginnings to provide for his family. He succeeds beyond most people’s life stories. Losing him, Luke moves away, living on his own work and his parents’ help. A blessing. Not many have the luxury to leave all. It does take courage, though. Such odyssey is well detailed. Will the world forgive him for leaving all behind? Will it understand? Luke will figure it out.

Worthwhile Journey!

Enjoyed Luke's honesty and insight as he recounted his journey. Also enjoyed the cultural and historic context he gave to his travel destinations. Perfect ending/beginning to realize living an authentic life would have indeed made his dad proud.

A wonderful journey of self discovery!

I was a huge fan of Tim so have followed Luke since his Dad passed. I recently retired and feel like I too am on a journey of self discovery for what is next. I loved the stories while feeling I was his travel companion. I thoroughly enjoyed the read…laughter, tears, love, loss, grief and coming into his own on the other side of it all. A very sweet tribute to his wonderful parents.
