Though it's hardly been a few weeks since he found Fiona the beautiful snake girl and Jezzy the seductive succubus and learned of their plan to fix up an old inn to try to help bridge the gap between the various races, it feels like months have passed. And now he finds himself in a loving and intensely intimate relationship with both women.

It's getting more complicated, though. Nyx, an eight-foot, 500-year-old dragoness with a lot of confidence and a deep interest in human men just like him flies into his life. While getting used to having her attention, he needs to keep their plan going. The Hinter is dangerous, and if they're ever going to get this inn off the ground, they need to make it a bit safer and deal with some of the threats around the area, like the undead that keep wandering in. Only it won't be that easy, because it never is in the life of an adventurer.

Oh to be an adventurer

a dragon in the mix? a Palladin? Luckiest adventurer ever in my humble opinion.

Enjoyable content and storytelling.

I enjoyed the telling of the story and different accents and dialects that the monster girls had. It was all well done tbh. Would love to see more of the character and Nix the Dragon having more fun !!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I hope there are more books to come in this series! The MC is great along with a really good supporting cast! The story is captivating! The narrators also did a good job of bringing the story to life! Great job Misty Vixen!

Enjoyable

While the story is somewhat simplistic, it is enjoyable. the problem with this audio book version is the Male narrator. He has a tendency to speak in a Monotone, which really sucks the life out of the main male character. the female narrator does a good job, though.

A good sequel

When it comes to a sequel, I am personally looking for everything that made the last book worth it and then some. In my opinion that is this book. Our main character and his lovely ladies are joined by new additions in this book. They're still trying to make the area safe and bring the various races together. Since the first book I have listened to quite a few other stories by this lady author and all of them have spicy scenes that will get you hot under the collar. Unfortunately book 3 for this series is not yet out in any format and so I will recommend to anybody reading this review who's gone through this book that they check out “A Warm Place” which this author has since completed and is fully available in eBook form. The completed series is in the process of getting the audio treatment. Moving on to the narration team I can say hands down that I absolutely loved their performances. The first time I came across their work was in the “Lost Fleet” series which is another easy recommendation for anybody looking for more of their work. For anybody who has not yet bought in on this specific series I'll go ahead and put my book 1 review below just to give a little bit extra information. Lastly, I'll just say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the Audible listeners.

Book 1 Review

Right up front I'm going to say that I recommend you give this book a shot. If you do and get to the end, then are looking for more than I'm going to say why don't you check out book 2 which is available now in eBook form. This author is still relatively new to me, but I've liked what she's written so far. This is the second series of hers that I've checked out. As for the narrators their performance is on point. The first time I came across them was in the incursion book and I'm looking forward to more of what they have to offer. Our hero in this story is an adventurer looking for love or he's looking for love. A chance encounter as is stated in the blurb has him seeking out something similar. Honestly, in my opinion the author was very upfront with what kind of book this is, and it did not disappoint. Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us the audible listeners.
