AI read so very distracting from story

The story itself I’m sure it was pretty good. It was wholesome. Some of the religious references were incorrect. The AI reading just really ruined the story. I forced myself through the end of it, but I became so frustrated with the incorrect pronunciation of many English words that are spelt the same but are pronounced differently, depending on their usage that I wanted to figuratively throw the book. lol it is a shame the author could not hire a good actor to read the book as it was probably a lot better than it seemed

Digital narration

Story always good and better than expected better than expected narration, Nothing compared to a good human narrator though. Came off as robotic at many points

The lack of proofreading.

It wasn’t a bad story, and I understand that if Audible can get away with using AI as the narrator, they will save a ton of money.
AI narration is not ready for this move. Because the English language has several uses for the same word, the narration quite often use the wrong one.

An example of this is the word does. “does” means to get something done or it means a female deer. Although the word is spelled the same the pronunciation is very different as is the meaning. There were many of these throughout the stories.

There were also inconsistencies with names from book to book. Sarah promised to keep the name Myrtle’s for the shop because it’s what Myrtle wanted, then Charlotte promised to keep the name Stitch in Time because it’s what Myrtle wanted. In one book Father Rodrigo became Father Domingo. There were several instances of similar things.

Much of what was wrong could’ve been corrected with proofreading, but that’s what happens when you try and cut the budget.

The storyline though was was good drew me in right away
